Robert R. McWilliams

Robert R. McWilliams, age 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 with his loving family by his side. Robert was born on October 1, 1938 in Chicago, IL. He served his country honorably as an engineer in the United States Army before starting his career as a civil engineer for the Illinois Department of Transportation. Robert was a longtime parishioner at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Barrington, IL. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Sherlyn McWilliams (nee Baird); loving children, Mark (Kim) McWilliams, Barbara (Robert) Neumann, Steve (Carrie) McWilliams, and Katharine (Jim) Czarnecki; cherished grandchildren, Dustin McWilliams, Ryan McWilliams, Jake McWilliams, Drew Czarnecki, Bryce McWilliams, Mackenzie McWilliams, and Jon Czarnecki. Preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Gladys McWilliams. A visitation for Robert was held from 4pm until 8pm on Monday, March 20, 2023 Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W. Main Street (Lake-Cook Rd) Barrington, IL 60010. A second visitation was held on Tuesday March 21, 2023 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, 720 Dundee Ave, Barrington, IL from 11am until the time of service at 1pm.
