Soucek, nee Boghasen; dear father of Bob Soucek and Tom (Rene) Soucek; stepfather of Elizabeth (Bruce Covich) Oplatka; grandfather of Brian Soucek (Matt Lane); brother of Tony (Gladys) Soucek, Dorothy Soucek Kane, Don (Kathryn Jones) Soucek, Jimmy Soucek and the late Edward Soucek. I graduated from Morton HS in 1961, Bob was one of the very best coaches/PE teachers I ever had. A marvelous athlete and an inspiring teacher. In my Junior year I was selected to become a PE Leader and he was my class leader. That was one of my best experiences at JSM High School. I am so pleased to learn that he lived a long and rewarding life. BTW, I remember Otto Oplatka and Ruth Oplatka was my 7th Grade Homeroom teacher. Is her daughter Ellen part of your family? Ken Robb

My condolences to the Soucek family on behalf of the James & Rita Regan family. Bob Soucek gave much of his heart and soul to the Morton schools over many decades. He coached at many levels for JSM sports and made sure the players learned fundamentals. He also enjoyed the game of golf. May he now rest in peace.

I would like to extend my sympathy to the family and especially to his brother Donald Soucek why was my classmate both at Morton and at Cornell College.
I looked up in the old Morton Annuals, and it appears that his first year listed was 1949 (he was not listed in 1948). This is Coach Soucek's picture from the 1949 Morton Annual.
