After spending a beautiful Labor Day weekend with her children and grandchildren, Dr. Roberta G. Sachs (nee Dorph) died peacefully and suddenly on September 10th, 2021 at her home outside of Denver, Colorado.
Dr. Sachs was born in 1939 in Highland Park, Illinois where she grew up and graduated Highland Park High School. She married Gerald Sachs in 1961 and raised her family in Skokie, Illinois. In the mid 1970's, Dr. Sachs went to Northwestern University where she obtained her Master's and PhD Degrees in Psychology.
Dr. Sachs dedicated her life to helping the severely abused and was regarded as one of the leading experts in treating patients with Multiple Personality Disorders.
She was fondly regarded as Grammy by many and is survived by her two children, Gregory Sachs (Christine Sachs) and Tracy Auster (Joseph Auster), 5 grandchildren Sydney, Spencer and Micah Sachs, Samantha and Alexis Auster, as well as her former husband Gerald Sachs.
At her request, no public service will be held.
Her life-long love was summer camp where she found inner peace and tranquility. Therefore, a fund has been set up in her Memory to benefit campers at Camp Birch Knoll outside of Eagle River, Wisconsin.
