Roger Elmer Benhart, 87, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2021 at his home with his family by his side. Beloved husband of the late Joyce (nee Runge). Loving father of Richard (Darlene Collins) Benhart, Laurie (the late Alexander) Georgas, Julie (John) Binneboese and Jill (Alexander) Stanulis. Cherished grandfather of Kimberly (Ian) McCoy, Kelly (John) Matusik, Lyndsey (Bart) Schwartz, the late Michelle Binneboese, Bradley (Donna) Benhart, Ashley (Gregory) Zeck, Erik (Marenth) Benhart, Alexander Stanulis and Kyle Stanulis. Proud great grandfather of 14. Devoted brother of the late Eugene Benhart Sr (the late Constance) and the late LaVerne Benhart (Nancy). A dear uncle of many. Survived by his loving friend Geraldine Fricke.

Roger was a lifetime resident of Itasca, IL and a lifetime member of The Lutheran Church of Saint Luke. He was also a longtime member of Itasca Lions Club, Itasca Seniors and President/CEO of Runge Paper Co.

Visitation Saturday November 20, 2021 3pm - 7pm at Geils Funeral Home 260 W. Irving Park Rd. Wood Dale, IL. Lying in state Sunday November 21, 2021 1:30 pm until time of service. Funeral 2 pm at The Lutheran Church of Saint Luke 410 S. Rush St. Itasca, IL. Interment Saint Luke Cemetery Itasca.
