Roger Kay Taylor passed away peacefully on September 9, 2021, Age 84, of Homer Glen and Flossmoor, Illinois. Beloved husband of 57 years to Barbara (Duffy). Dearest Father to Jennifer (Tom) Gorton, Melissa (Jeff) Geibel, Kathleen (Brad Fisher) Wilk and Alison (Christopher) Sipe. Most loved Papa to Troy, Nathan, Ryan, Meghan, Devin, Grace, Jacob, Josie, Molly, Samantha, Christopher, Alex and Claire. Brother to the late Donna Rae Kaufman. Cherished brother-in-law, uncle, coach, mentor, friend and cheering fan to many. Graduate of the University of Illinois, 1959. Men's Basketball Team Captain, earning All-American Honors, 1959. Graduate of Rich East High School 1955, valedictorian, earning all-state athlete recognition. Basketball was always in Roger's heart, successfully coaching young athletes on Chicago Heights Small Fry, Infant Jesus of Prague, St. Lawrence O'Toole and area park district teams for over 40 years. Retiring from AT&T (Illinois Bell) in 1997, Roger traveled widely with his family and enjoyed all the small and big moments in their lives. Funeral Wednesday 10:30am until time of Mass at 11:00am at Marian Village, 15624 Marian Drive, Homer Glen, IL 60491. Hello to the Taylor family. I am just learning of Roger's passing. I am so very sorry to hear about this. He was a wonderful guy who absolutely loved his family. It was my pleasure to coach with him. I learned from him.

He is at peace now. He left behind a great legacy. I pray for strength and peace for the family.
