Rosalie Elaine Codell, 86 of Chicago, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2008. Loving mother of Julie (Ted) Codell, Barry (Betty) Codell, Neil (Carrie) Codell; devoted Grandmother of Ethan (Sheri), Esme (Jim), Reggie (Susan), Bryce and Cami; adoring Great-Grandmother of Colin, Brynn,
Russell, Dexter, Sonia, Nina; dear aunt; fond cousin of many. Rosalie was an inspiration as a guidance counselor, teacher and friend to her countless admirers. She served 27 years in the Chicago Public School system at Lane Tech and Senn High Schools and 17 years as a volunteer at the Northwest Home for the Aged, which enabled her to beautifully touch so many lives. "Raisy" loved music, humor, travel, literature, fashion and most of all, people. A graduate of Marshall High School before entering Northwestern University and later receiving her master's degree from Northeastern Illinois University, Rosalie was dedicated to learning all her life. She made an indelible impression upon all who knew her. Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Bessie
Rosenthal, and sisters, Florence Rosenthal and Shirley Holtzman. Private services were held. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to: The Alzheimer's Association, 225 North Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
