Adam and Family,
I write these words without knowing Ryan personally. I do know the passion you keep and can only imagine Ryan was an extention of that, and a most important part of your family. I trust his way has helped mold you and your family's spirit. Stephanie and I are very sorry for your loss.

Those of us who were privileged to know Ryan can attest that he was a truly remarkable young man who was gifted in so, so many ways. Absolutely filled with life and energy. Someone who was truly caring and sensitive to the needs of others. A quick smile, a soft voice, and a warm heart. A friend to all.

"... Your candle's burned out long before
Your legend ever will..."

Ryan touched so many lives in so many different ways. Those of us who worked and played with Ryan will miss him in ways that are hard to describe. Our hearts go out to his family and friends in their time of sorrow. Ryan and his family are in our thoughts, our hearts, and in our prayers.

Ryan,
" May the great Scoutmaster of all Scouts be with you until we meet again."

Dear Paul and Debbie,

I read about Ryan's passing while I was looking to save my wife's fathers obit last night. My father -in-law passed away on Tuesday. Words can't even come close to saying how much this news affected my wife and me. I am truly sorry for your loss. I have college age children also. I have spoken to Scot Swakow and will email others from the team later to day to share your loss with the others. Please accept our heart felt condolences. I know that God will help you get through this and understand what has happened. I wish there was more I could do but all I can do is pray for you and your family and hope that you can accept all of this as part of something bigger than any of us.
God Bless you and your family.

Dear Family of Ryan,
A friend of mine told me about Ryan tonight. Having walked in your shoes in September, I know the extreme grief and bewilderment that you are experiencing at this time. Be gentle with yourselves, let others support you and love you, and know that you are being remembered in prayer by friends, family, and even strangers like me. May God give you strength, comfort, and peace in the minutes, days, and weeks ahead. Love, Lynn

To the Mademann Family: We are so sorry for your loss. My son, Stephen Sedlacek loved being Ryan's Cross Country team mate in Fall 2007. He said Ryan was always kind and welcoming to the younger runners. Matt Sedlacek said that Troop 23 hasn't been the same without Ryan. He was a mentor and role model to many. We are proud to have known him even for a short while. God bless you.
