Sam Mevorah, 89. Born in Chicago on September 12, 1925 to the late Morris and Elizabeth. Married 67 years to the love of his life Berkie (Bernice) nee Berkovitz. Proud father of Susan and David Levine and Debbie Mevorah. Adored Papa of Abbey and Jordan Levine and Betsy and Kenny Schack. Best brother of Marsha (Herb) Landy and the late Bea, Sophia, Sapphira, Rae, Esther and Ruth. Special brother in law of Evelyn Waldman and the late Florence, Lillian, Millie, Sonny, Shirlee, Mitzi, and Arlene. Favorite uncle, great uncle and friend to many. Devotedly cared for by Geoffrey Roa. Service Monday, 2:00 p.m. at Temple Beth-El, 3610 Dundee Road, Northbrook. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. Berkie, Susan, Debbie,
I was thinking about Chicago family and friends the other day and came across Sam's obituary. Sam was always one of my favorite adults as a kid growing up.
Martha and I recently retired from Johns Hopkins University after many many years of working for the School of Medicine.
My best to you and your families and my belated condolences on the loss of Sam.

Susan and Debbie - I just found out about Sam's passing as I was away. I talked with your Mom a few minutes ago and wish to express to you and your family from me and my family our deepest and most sincere condolences on the loss of such a wonderful man and fantastic neighbor to my parents.

I met Mr. Mevorah in 1968. My last name being Selon, he dubbed me "Selonovitch". That was a connection that I have treasured all of these years. May his soul be bound up and may his memory be a blessing. Love, Sheryl
