Shulamith Williams Obituary

Shulamith Lome Williams, age 74, died in Seattle, March 17, 2007, born in Chicago to William and Miriam Lome; beloved mother to Wayne Williams, Andrea (Gary) Wenet and Alayne (Robert) Sulkin; grandmother to Arielle, Eli, Simon, Sophie and Maya; sister to Daniel Lome, Florence Becker, Bernard Lome, Frieda Brown and Leon Lome; aunt and great-aunt to her loving nieces and nephews. Shulamith was a dedicated teacher of mathematics in the Chicago Public Schools for 36 years, committed to the education of inner-city children. She demonstrated her devotion to Jewish life by teaching Sunday school, leadership roles in synagogue and Na'Amat, City of Hope and living a life of Ruah. The last couple of years of her life were spent in Seattle at the Summit and in the loving warmth of her daughters and their families. Her grandchildren were the "light of her life" and she felt truly blessed to be their Bubbie Shu. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, April 22 at 11:30 a.m. Inquiries:

I worked closely with Shu at Yates School in Chicago from 1973 until here retirement. I remember her warmth toward everyone, her sincere love for the children she taught, and her endless dedication to thier development and wellbeing. Her goodness lives on in those whose lives she touched
