Simon H. Aronson
Simon H. Aronson, former partner at law firm, Lord, Bissell & Brook, beloved husband of Virginia (Ginny) Aronson, for 45 years and brother of Bernard Aronson, passed away on December 10, 2019, at the age of 76.

For most of his life, Simon Aronson invented magic tricks-especially magic tricks with playing cards. His tricks have been, and continue to be, performed all over the world by thousands of magicians, both professional and amateur. In the magic community, Aronson has long been revered for brilliant methodological innovations, creative scripting and plots, and for the sheer force of intelligence that he brought to all of his tricks and writings. Some of his work has attained such classic status that almost every magician in the world is familiar with it. Although he became famous more thanks to writing than performing (he wrote many books for magicians), he loved to perform for audiences, both small and large-whether he was doing his own close-up magic tricks or playing his part in the much-admired, two-person mind-reading act that he and his wife, Ginny, are famous for. Simon loved to meet with magician-friends to create and tinker with magic tricks collaboratively (something he did every week for more than fifty years), and he had friends in magic all around the world.

A celebration of Simon's life will be held at a later date.

Ginny I just learned of Simons passing. My sincere condolences to you and your family. What I can say about Simon is that he was a great guy. Thats probably the greatest compliment I can pay an individual, a gentleman, smart in school, successful legal and magic career, pleasant, always nice to hang with in law school. My thoughts are with you. David

Simon I met through a teenage magic magazine back in the late 50's. Although we never me personally he remembered me and the magazine when I wrote to him a few years ago. God bless Simon.

Dear Ginny, we are so sorry to learn of Simon's passing. He was such an amazing magician. And nothing can ever beat the mind trick that you both performed. We were on a cruise a few years ago and attended a magic show with a fine magician performing card tricks. We sat almost literally under his nose and kept our eyes peeled on his hands and the cards. We still were shocked at what he did and could not detect at all how the trick was accomplished. When he was finished, Marian mentioned her friend Simon from law school. The magicians eyes grew wide and went on at length how great Simon was and all he had done for the profession, and for this magician in particular.
Our hearts are with you. Humanity has lost one of the greats.
Love, Marian and Fruman

Ginny, I am so sorry for your loss. I remember the party at the Berning residence when Simon and you did the mind reading act. It was great. While every situation is different, I can empathize, having lost my Nancy in 2018. My thoughts are with you.
