Thomas Henry Field
Thomas H. Field, "Tom" of Park Ridge, Illinois, died peacefully at home on October 2, 2021 surrounded by family. Tom is survived by his loving wife, Rennie (nee Heldak), siblings Bridget (Mark Young), Vincent II, Eric (Susan), Susan Felsenthal (James), William (Lauren), nephews Joshua and Christopher, niece Kaileigh, many extended family members, and friends that became family. He is preceded in death by his mother, Rosemary, and his father, Vincent.

Tom grew up in Park Ridge, returning to enjoy life in the community as an adult. After graduating Maine South High School in 1984, he earned his Bachelor's Degree from Northwestern University. Tom had a successful year 30 plus year career in the car wash business, where his engaging personality will be remembered by all who met him. Tom loved good food, whether it was to enjoy a new restaurant or to prepare an extravagant meal at home. He loved the ponies, and it was at his annual pilgrimage to the Kentucky Derby that he met his wife, Rennie. Tom loved to travel, especially to Las Vegas and Europe. He also enjoyed the simple pleasures of gardening, camping, canoeing, and fishing. No one enjoyed entertaining a crowd with a story more than Tom.

Tom left an impression on everyone he met. He will be remembered for his zest for life and the love of his wife, family, and friends. A celebration of Tom's life will be held on October 16, 2021. Just the thought of Tom Field always made me smile. The twinkle in his eye, the great wit and his ability to always make people feel welcome were trademarks, along with that great red hair! I met Tom at Maine South and enjoyed his friendship. Rest in peace, Tom.

Tom was always smiling whenever I saw him. He had a certain zest for life and would always tell me about how his garden is in full bloom. "I´ll bring you some tomatoes, Al" he´d always say. I am going to miss seeing him pop in just to say hello when he was in the neighborhood. Rest In Peace Tom, we will miss you.

I am happy to say I knew Tom for all of the 30 years he was in the car wash business. Tom was always pleasant, fun, kind, great to talk with, willing to help others and I am a better person for having known him. I am thinking about you Tom and I can still feel you and the positive vibe you always had and will have. I am sad to know I won't be bumping into you soon, but will see you somebody in the future and we will have some laughs.

Our Hearts go out to you Rennie and Tom´s family! We are happy we were able to share in some wonderful memories with Tom and Rennie beginning with their Wedding, Christmas Eve with the Mendelke´s Polish traditions, and other family get togethers. You both treated us as family! We enjoyed and laughed at many of Tom´s stories, and this memory that we will always have a great laugh, every time Tom would see us he would always introduce himself, Hi, my name is Tom, then shake our hand! Hope you are enjoying Horse Races in Heaven! Love Chris & Therese Foley
