Riding on Lakewood Trails
Gloria Mayer
January 10, 2019
I spent man hours with Tom riding the trails and talked about everything. My horse Rosie was in love with Moe. It was very sweet.
There was a time in my life when I lost my fatih in God. Tom was a good Christian. We would go out to eat after riding and Tom would talk to me about God, love, life, everything.
Thanks to Tom strong faith in God I got my faith back stronger than ever. Thanks to Tom, I went on to witness to others until they believed. So Tom not only saved my soul but thanks to this wonderful man many people now believe so he saved many souls.
Tom was a very dear friend and since I was always getting grief from family about how dangerous riding was (and broke many a bone) Tom told me "Hey if you die doing something you love it would be the best way to go." I can remember his voice as I write this. I will miss you Tom. I do feel a some consolation that you did die doing something you loved so very much. I know you are in heaven because in so many ways you were a saint and friendly and kind to everyone you met.

I have no words. I just talked with him on August 29th. I had no idea that he had passed. I literally just found out. I am so very sorry. He had an appointment with me yesterday and when he didn't show up, I was worried and texted him. He is always on time, you know Tom. I'm so sad for your loss.

Tom and I worked together for several years. I always enjoyed his common sense approach to handling his customers. He always knew the customer, and the products that they were building. If it was out of his territory or a line that he did not carry, he would give me a call and give me the information that I needed. I remember how excited that he was to be moving up to Wisconsin and have a place for his horses. He will be missed.

Tom worked for my fledgling company for many years during the 70's and 80's as a field salesman.
His inane mode of good cheer and positive thinking made a huge contribution to our eventual success.
But more than that, during those years and the many years thereafter he became a good friend.
The world and us have lost a man who gave us happiness and shared our needs whatever they be. He was always there for us.
Rest in peace good friend,
Len & Irma Cravath, Northbrook

I met Tom when he was boarding his horse, Moe, at Happy Trails stables. We became friends and rode together almost every weekend for several years until he moved his horse to another stable. I will remember Tom as a warm, friendly individual who always had a smile on his face. Such a tragedy that he was taken so young. He will be missed.
