Tony Siciliano Obituary

"THIS IS MY QUEST,
TO FOLLOW THAT STAR,
NO MATTER HOW HOPELESS,
NO MATTER HOW FAR;
TO FIGHT FOR THE RIGHT
WITHOUT QUESTION OR PAUSE,
TO MARCH INTO HELL
FOR A HEAVENLY CAUSE!
AND I KNOW IF I'LL ONLY BE TRUE
TO THIS GLORIOUS QUEST,
THAT MY HEART WILL LIE PEACEFUL AND CALM,
WHEN I'M LAID TO MY REST.
AND THE WORLD WILL BE BETTER FOR THIS:
THAT ONE MAN, SCORNED AND COVERED WITH SCARS,
STILL STROVE WITH HIS LAST OUNCE OF COURAGE,
TO REACH THE UNREACHABLE STAR."

From The Impossible Dream
Lyrics by Joe Darion

Born on August 12, 1925, Tony P. Siciliano, nicknamed "Harpo" for his curly hair, was the second of three sons born to John and Mary Siciliano, Italian immigrants who came to this country in the early 1900s. His was a large family of eleven children who were raised near Taylor and Halsted Streets in Chicago - where now stands the campus of the University of Illinois - Chicago. Michael, the oldest of the sons passed on in his early twenties. Rose, the eldest daughter, passed on at age four. Two other daughters were stillborn. Of the surviving children in the early 1940's, there were Mary, Nancy, Tony, Connie, Sam, Anne and Grace (picture on photo page). Their father, John, from Naples, Italy, worked first as a barber and later became a city worker with the asphalt gang. Their mother, Mary, from Calabria, Italy, was a homemaker taking care of the home and the children by making sure that they were clean, fed and comfortable.

Growing up in the neighborhood, Tony and his brother, Sam, played softball in the empty lots, Sheridan Park and other park fields. Both were considered excellent players. At that time, the players rotated positions so that one day, a person may be the pitcher and the next an outfielder. "He grew up having lots of friends because he was truthful to them," states his sole surviving sibling, Anne. "They trusted him for he told it like it was and he was true to his word. For this he was respected and liked."

Tony and his brother, Sam, shined shoes on the corner of Madison and Halsted as teenagers. They also sold fruits and vegetables at Taylor and Halsted. They brought home the monies they earned in order to help the family. Tony began working at the local bakery, Ferrara, cleaning the pots and pans the bakers and decorators used. Eventually, he worked his way to being the top cake baker and decorator. Several of his siblings joined him working at the bakery. It wasn't unusual to see Sam and Tony working together. Usually, Sam would work inside baking and decorating while Tony would deliver many of the beautiful wedding cakes. Ferrara was known for the arched wedding cakes under which the wedding parties would march during the receptions. They were spectacular sights! Tony would often have amusing stories to tell about the deliveries he made.

World War II took Tony overseas (picture on photo page). He was eventually sent to Korea where his outfit and others were to repair the extensive destruction left by the expelled Japanese, and to build a Korea that would be self-sufficient. Korea was dominated by Japan for many years prior to World War II. The Japanese used Korea for its own means toward the efforts of World War II. In February of 1945, there was discussion regarding the idea of having Korea governed by a multinational group at the end of the war. The Americans took the 38th Parallel and south, while the Russians took the northern section. The Americans were there to give the Koreans a start; get out; and let them work out their own future. In 1948, the Republic of Korea was established in the south. Both the Americans and the Russians trained the Koreans and left the country in 1948-1949. In June of 1950, the Korean War erupted with the invasion of South Korea by the Russian-trained North Koreans.

Sometime after he came home from serving his country, Tony married a local girl, Virginia (picture on photo page). After several years of apartment living, they moved their family to a small village, Bridgeview, Illinois. There were only three homes left in the "Southfield Section". Tony and Virginia purchased a corner house while his brother, Sam, and his wife, Rose, purchased a house a few blocks away. In their first and only home, Tony and Virginia raised their four children - Michael, Karen, Anthony and Suzanne (picture on photo page). Sam and Rose also raised their children - Janet, Mary Lynn, John and Nicki, in this, their first house. Bridgeview would turn out to be a wonderful place to live, raise their children and make friends.

"Daisy" (Harriet) and Jim Ohlinger, now residing in Bullhead City, Arizona, were their good friends who lived across the street. Their daughter, Vicky, was the best friend of Tony and Virginia's daughter, Suzanne. Other friendships developed with neighboring families. There were Dottie and Rich Peksa. Of course, who could forget the Becky and Steve LiVigni family, whose children (now adults) are still good friends with the children of Tony and Virginia! Unfortunately, Steve and his wife, Becky, have passed.

After a long bout with leukemia, Tony's wife, Virginia, passed on in 1976. According to many who knew her, she was a very nice person who loved to laugh and have fun. She was genuine. A quality that Tony admired in people and a quality that people admired in Tony.

Tony and Sam became part-time police officers in Bridgeview soon after moving to the village, and while they still worked at the bakery. Sam eventually started working at Naples Bakery. Tony had become a full-time police officer with the village and loved this job up to the day of his retirement in 1979 (picture on photo page). In fact, he was the first motorcycle police officer in Bridgeview. Tony was considered a tough but fair police officer. He really cared!

In 1981, the residents elected Tony to the position of village trustee. He was re-elected four years later. Many persons believe that he was the voice of the people that he represented. And he was! His heart was there for the residents. He looked out for their welfare.

In 1986, Tony was appointed the Superintendent of Roads and Municipal Buildings. Tony retired from the village in 1990 with over thirty years of service to this village that he loved so much.

It wouldn't have been a day in Bridgeview if you didn't see Tony. He drove throughout Bridgeview, checking out any problems that needed to be corrected. If the residents needed help, they could easily spot Tony in his black Lincoln or on his red Honda motor scooter. He would always have time for them.

It took this village over ten years and the electing of a new village president to finally and publicly recognize Tony's years of service to Bridgeview. Village President Steven M. Landek had a plaque made and presented it at the February 7, 2001, village board meeting to honor a man so deserving (picture on photo page). President Landek spoke highly of Tony's accomplishments. Several others also spoke of Tony and his persistent means to achieve success in whatever endeavors he tried. And that honor was one that Tony was so grateful to receive. Though Tony gave the appearance of the gruff person many thought him to be, he was actually one of the gentlest of gentlemen.

In 1983, Tony met his future bride, Catherine Altar, at Daniel's - the restaurant that was his "home away from home." In 1986, Tony and Kay (as he called her) were married at the courthouse in Chicago Ridge by Judge William F. Fitzpatrick with a roomful of bailiffs as witnesses. Theirs was a marriage that lasted fifteen years - cut short by his passing caused by failing health attributed to injuries he suffered in late 1996. Many persons spoke of Tony and Kay as a couple that complimented each other. Or as a team that worked together.

On Sundays and on days that she would be off from work, Kay would drive with Tony throughout the village - continuing what was one of Tony’s past practices. They would also drive throughout southwest Cook, DuPage and Will counties just to view the scenery, check out some point of interest and/or try a restaurant that they hadn't tried before or had liked previously. They vacationed several times a year, either in Florida, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Arizona, Illinois or California (picture on photo page). Recently, when asked which of all the events that happened in his life was the best, Tony's immediate response was, "marrying my Kay."

Not too outspoken on his private life, many did not know that Tony's cousin was Charles Atlas or that Tony had a tenor's voice almost equal to that of Mario Lanza. When he sang at home, it wasn't in the shower but while sitting with Kay. "My Tony loved good music and listening to it," stated his Kay.

Every second and fourth Tuesday of the month, Tony would be with his fellow seniors in the Bridgeview GoldenAgers - a club that his mother-in-law, Freida A. Altar, and others founded with assistance provided by the Bridgeview Park District and its then director - Steven M. Landek. Tony served this club as President and as Treasurer.

The first Wednesday of every month, Tony would meet with a group of men who were the pioneers of Bridgeview - Ray Lederman, Joe Allen, Jim Simon, Jack Curry and Ken MacIntosh.

Tony and his other friends would meet at Daniel's every morning. The group consisted of Tony, his brother, Sam, Gus Pape, "Dark Frank", Tom Sangosti, Joe Serpico, Howie, Paul Bachman, Mickie, Bill Brauer, Ron "Spike" Mision, and later, Dennis and Bill Dean. When the group dwindled in size due mainly to the passing of many of the members of the group, several wives joined "the gang", including Kay Siciliano, Marie Brauer and Gloria Mision. Often Barb and Herb Stewart would stop by. Terry Brown would also stop whenever he was in town.

With the remodeling of Daniel's Family Restaurant in 2001, Tony and his Kay used to stop in to view the work being done. Sometimes Bill and Marie would also drop in. Other times, Paul would stop in. Tony never had the opportunity to see the completed Daniel's Grille & Bar in Bridgeview at the grand reopening. However, a day later, the funeral luncheon for Tony was held at Daniel's Grille & Bar - a final get-together of his family and friends.

Tony had witnessed the passing of his wife, Virginia, two brothers, four sisters, his parents, his grandson, Ricky, his father-in-law, Augie J. Altar, his mother-in-law, Freida A. Altar, and his youngest child, Suzanne. Like her mother, Suzanne passed on from cancer. Ironically, both mother and daughter were forty-five at the time of their deaths. Suzanne went through extensive chemotherapy and radiation treatments to live for her then seven-year-old daughter, Katy. The combination of heartaches from the losses of those Tony loved and his failing health took away almost all of his strength. Yet, he never gave up. He had the desire to keep going on. Tony's four-plus years of struggle with his failing health ultimately ended on April 17, 2001.

"On that April night," stated his Kay, "my Tony looked at me and said, 'I love you, Kay'. I caressed him while I talked with him about our good life together and the great times we shared these past eighteen years. I told him that he could go and be in God's Arms where he would no longer be in pain. I told him how much his family loved him. I told him that Virginia, his parents, Ricky, Suzanne, his brothers and sisters, my parents and others were waiting for him. I asked him to save me a place near him and that I would soon be with him. And as he turned more toward me, I told him that I would miss him; that I loved him; and that there would never be another man in my life or in my heart. I encouraged him to let go and find that Eternal Peace. I kissed him farewell. With that, he closed his eyes and passed on. I lost my best friend. I lost my true love. No one can or will replace my Tony!"

FOR MY TONY
HOW COULD I FORGET YOU?!
You were my strength upon which our love did bind.
You were my love that brightened each and every day.
You were my hope that life would be ever kind.
You were my Tony and I your Kay.

WHY WOULD I FORGET YOU?!
Not many men would be like you
Helping another in time of strife.
Not many men, "Big T", would do as you,
Giving someone a chance at life.

I'LL NEVER FORGET YOU!
You were my happiness, my true love.
You were so special to me.
I thank God that you're HOME above
And that forever together we'll soon be.

Bridgeview's President Steven M. Landek arranged to further honor Tony. At Tony's wake, there was a Bridgeview Police Honor Guard. The fine men of the VFW, Post 8475, made a presentation on the evening of the wake and on the morning of the service. At the cemetery, the VFW's rifles were shot and taps played for this deceased U.S. World War II Veteran. The American Flag was presented to Tony's wife, Kay. It was a very dignified and honorable farewell! (Pictures are on the photo page.)

Tony was the beloved, irreplaceable and unforgettable husband and best friend of Catherine (Kay); dearest husband of the late Virginia; dear father of Michael (Donna), Karen (Frank), Anthony (Bobbie) and the late Suzanne; dear son of the late John and the late Mary Siciliano; greatest "papa" of Michael, Dominic, Spencer, the late Ricky, Anthony, Virginia, Nanci, Michelle, Jackie (Bryant), Gary, Corrie and Katy and great granddaughter, Michaela; precious brother of Anne and his departed sisters and brothers (Michael, Rose, Mary, Nancy, Connie, Sam and Grace); endeared son-in-law of the late Freida and the late Augie Altar; special brother-in-law of Rose Siciliano, Mary and the late Neil Francis, Josephine and Jack Luscombe, the late Katie and Louis Paporone, the late Tillie and the late Larry Klimas, Tony, John Altar and Robert Altar; fond uncle to many nieces and nephews; and a loyal friend to those privileged to be so considered.

"It is by the way my Tony lived and the manner in which he touched so many lives that he will be remembered and missed," emphasized his Kay.

A yearly $500.00 scholarship has been established in memory of and as a tribute to Tony P. Siciliano, a man of distinction and a genuine, considerate leader. His love for his village and for those residing within Bridgeview was obvious to all who knew and loved him. He was kind, thoughtful, generous, warm-hearted, gentle and most importantly an irreplaceable, unforgettable husband and loving father. He will always be remembered as the man who "reached the unreachable star" and who was "true to his quest".

Awarding of The TONY P. SICILIANO Scholarship will be on August 12, 2001, which would have been Tony's seventy-sixth birthday. It will be based upon the applicant being a current resident of Bridgeview; a person who is to embark on undergraduate studies, whether a high school senior or a high school graduate who did not receive further formal training, and wishes to return for further education. The undergraduate studies must be in an accredited junior-college, college or university, or in the trades; culinary school, beauty school, barber school, etc. The applicant must be in financial need and have had at least a 2.0 grade point average in a 4.0 grading system. Each year, a new recipient will be chosen. The TONY P. SICILIANO Scholarship is for $500.00 and for one year only.

My Dearest Tony,
Happy Birthday! I am sorry that I didn't send this message to you yesterday but it is not that I forgot your birthday, I didn't! Since I don't have a home computer, I have to rely on the one at the office. The landscapers kept me busy so I had not time to leave to go to the office. I l wonder if you would have like the work done with our property. It does remind me of a paradise but missing your presence.
I love you and miss you very much! Thank you for being in my life! I will never forget you! Your caring and thoughtful spirit will always be with me.
Again, Happy Birthday!

DEAR, DEAR CHA CHING!

My little one, I miss you dearly! You are forever in my heart and memories! I will never forget you!

The fun we had no one can imagine! You being pulled on an elongated cushion by me be it on snow or grass was one of your favorite outdoor activities! Of course we couldn't forget "catch" or "toss and return" of the squeaky toy or ball! Indoors, the game of returning a ball tossed at a closed door was another favorite of yours! Even when Mai Shu tried to stop our game, we enjoyed keeping it away from her!

My dreams of you Cha Ching, Butch and Mai Shu bring me smiles of happiness! I will always cherish them as I do "My Three Pugs"! Thank you to all three of you!

MY SN, PP, B--MI GUAPO BUTCH,

Although it is Valentines Day, this is the date of your passing several decades ago. For such a long time period, I have never forgotten you! In fact, I have continuously thought about you and our time together! I have and always will love you Butch! You are my first Pug and the reason why I had Pugs throughout my adult life!

Miss you so much! Wish we could relive our years together! We had years of happiness and fun together! Those thoughts bring a smile to my face!

Love you Butch! Miss you Butch! Never will forget you Butch! You are a part of my "Butchingmaish"!

Until the twelfth of never. . .

WARM AND SINCERE BIRTHDAY WISHES TO
MY CHERISHED and FOREVER-LOVED MOM,

Today is a special day! No, it is a VERY SPECIAL DAY! Both you and John each share February 2nd in a wonderful way! He was your first child and a Heavenly gift for your birthday!

You have always been a great Mom! I have looked up to you, a strong woman with the kindest of hearts! I admire you! I love you! I miss you! Sometimes I feel your presence in the same room! Many times I get a whiff of your very favorite perfume which stops me in my tracks as I then know you are definitely with me! Wish that I could be like you! That would make me so happy and proud!

Being your caregiver was an honor and privilege! Being your caregiver and daughter was even more so! I only wish I could have done more and in a better way! I did the best that I could! During that time our roles were reversed--you became the child and I, the parent! I would have cared for you all the rest of my life! One of my final actions was to continuously touch your coffin as "You'll never walk alone" was played and sung!

I know that God has a very special place in Heaven for you! You are such a great lady!
I LOVE YOU!

Until the twelfth of never. . .
Love always,
Cathy

MY OTHER HANDSOME PUG, CHA CHING,

It has been two years today since God called you Home! It really did hurt to have you leave me! I know that you're with my family, friends and pets--especially Butch and Mai Shu. More importantly, you are in God's Hands! My one wish was to be with each of my Pugs as they went Home! That was accomplished!

You are also one of "My Three Pugs" and a part of "my Buchingmaish"! I will always remember you! You were such a clever boy! You were named Cha Ching because you were a winner and by picking you, I am one as well! I love you Cha Ching! I miss you so! I believe that all of God's creations go to Heaven! For I believe it is our hearts that make it to Heaven and with which we join our loved ones and God!

It is very lonely without the three of you! Yet there are times when I can "feel" each of you with me at one time or another! I don't know if they are dreams or something else! All I know is that I am comforted by you "visits" and have no fear!

Have fun playing with all in Heaven--especially with Butch and Mai Shy in addition to all of my other loved ones!

I'll be with all of you when I am called Home! We can play in Heaven as we did in the yard or in the house!

Love and miss you Cha Ching!

Until the twelfth of never. . .

Love always,
"Mom" (Cathy)

MY HANDSOME FIRST PUG, MI GUAPO BUTCH,

You, Butch, are one of "My Three Pugs" and a part of my "Butchingmaish"! Loved you from the moment I saw you! I chose you from that moment 'cause something about you drew me to you! You were so magnetic!

It has been such a long time since that day when I had to let you go Home! Actually decades! Didn't want to do it! Didn't want you to suffer! Loved you so much that I couldn't let my selfishness stand in the way of your peace and comfort! I knew that God would care for you until I was called Home and then He and I would share the care of you and all the others whom I loved and lost!

I knew that my Mom and Dad are caring for you with God and that so are my other relatives and friends! Also, Cha Ching and Mai Shu will play with you as well as all our other pets!

You always were a good boy! Never had a problem with you! Loved having you with me on our drives or looking out the windows at the various seasons! And even playing in the yard or house!

Love you Butch! Miss you ever so much! I ask that you and the others please save me a place near all of you!

Until the twelfth of never. . .

Love always,

Sorry, Tony! I need to use you site again. Thank you Tony!

MY DEAR SWEET MAI SHU,

Love you sweetie! Miss you and your humorous actions! I recall how you were the shadow of Cha Ching and, as a young pup, learned the "how tos" that he showed you! As you grew older, your independence was quite noticeable! In the elderly stage of life, you mellowed!

Truly love you Mai Shu! Miss you so much! Never will I forget you!

Keep Butch and Cha Ching company! I'm sure that my human loved ones and our other pets are helping God take care of you! When I am called Home, I'll be there to help!

Until the twelfth of never. . .

Love,
"Mom" (Cathy)

Dear Moy,

A New Year and the same thoughts of you! Miss your quietness and kindness! I know they both drew many people to you! How could they not?!

Wished you well when you were very sick and God answered by taking you Home with Him! I know that you are in His care! You are safe there! I know that you are given the best of the best--care, love and happiness!

Never will I forget you, Moy! Maybe you are playing with Butch, Cha Ching and Mai Shu or have you renamed them?! Keep each other company and include my human family! I know that they will like you!

Until the twelfth of never. . .

Again dear Tony, I must use your site to wish my parents a happy anniversary. Thanks Tony.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MOM and DAD!!

What wonderful parents you have been to the three of us! You've shown us how beautiful it is to love and beloved! Though we were poor, we never felt that way 'cause you made us feel wealthy with the love we shared! We never threw tantrums if you couldn't afford to purchase something we wanted! You were always there when we needed you! You provided for us! You surrounded us with family love! And when we were grown enough to be on our own, you let us go to find our place in this world!

Mom and Dad, I love you very much! I miss you! I'll never forget you! I hope that my action will always show others the greatest feeling that comes with having a loving and caring Mom and Dad!

When I hear the words of "You'll Never Walk Alone", immediately I think of you Mom! And Dad, you come to mind as I hear "Wind Beneath My Wings"!

I love both of you with all my heart! I certainly miss you! I'll always remember you!

Until the twelfth of never. . .

Love Always,
Cathy

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY JESUS,

Thank You for creating the lovely waters and skies, the endearing hills, mountains, valleys and plains, the breathtaking sunsets and sunrises! Wish man would have left them as when You created them! They are the precious gifts you gave us as this world was created!

Please hold all of our deceased loved ones--humans and animals--in Your Loving Arms!
They were the personal gifts each of us were given!

Please guide us in expressing care and love or, at the very least, tolerance toward our fellow man! They would be the meaningful gifts!

Allow us, Dear Jesus, to enjoy what You have provided for us and to give You our thanks for everything--especially those special gifts!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Linksmu Kaledu!
Merry Christmas!
!Feliz Navidad!

Until the twelfth of ever. . .

My Dear Tony,

I must use your condolences page as I cannot get into the one for my Mom and Dad, Freida A and Augie J Altar. Thanks!

My Dear Uncle Dom,

Missed sending you a message on what would have been your birthday due to various reasons. One main one was that I couldn't get onto my Mom and Dad's condolences page.

You know that I always loved you! You were like a second father to me! I loved how you dedicated yourself to helping others and especially all animals. I never could understand how all of them listened to you the first time you requested each to do something!

Thank you for being a part of my life! I miss you very much!

Until the twelfth of never. . .

Love always,
Cathy

should have been 12-16-18 but done 12-18-18

I'll continue with the entry I want to make that would be normally done on the 18th!

My Dear Cha Ching,

It has been almost two years since I last held you in my arms! I still am so sad that you left but am happy that you are in God's Hands and in peace. You know that I always loved you! I will never forget you!

I think about how you and I did so many things together-dancing to some GOOD music; catching the ball as I threw it at the pantry door; running around the kitchen table as we played tag; pulling the outdoor cushion as you stayed on it or just napping near me as we watched television or listened to the radio! WHAT GREAT TIMES WE HAD TOGETHER!

You, Cha Ching, Butch and Mai Shu adorned this year's Christmas card!!! How cute each of you look!!!

You will forever be in my heart, Cha Ching!
I'll never ever forget you or stop loving you! You are part of "My Three Pugs"!!!

Until the twelfth of never. . .

Love always,

My Dearest Tony,

HAPPY. BIRTHDAY! HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TONY!

My how time has flown! It is quite hard to believe that it has been so long since we were together! I've grown sooooo much older and not that much wiser! Wish we could have grown old together! I miss you very much! Wonder where we would have been at this point of time! I love you with all my heart! As many had said, we were a great couple who worked together! And we accomplished quite a bit together!

Wish you were here with Cha Ching and Mai Shu! You would have loved both of them! I know because you were so good with and loved Butch!

My only regret is that we didn't have much time together! My blessing is that the time we did share was wonderful! God not only blessed me with a great husband and a family in which I grew up and love dearly but also with three great Pugs and other fabulous pets! How blessed I've been!

Thinking of you all of the time and even more so today! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ! I LOVE YOU TONY!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TONY!

So much time has passed since we were together. I miss you with all my heart! In these last seventeen years, I've grown soooo much older but not that much wiser! Wish we could have had more time together! I am saddened by this yet I am blessed that we did have the time that we did share!

Wish you could have been here to get to know Cha Ching and Mai Shu! I know that you would have loved both as much as you had loved Butch! They, like Butch, would have been your best pals!

I thank God that He allowed us the time we shared as you were a wonderful husband! I was blessed! I am also thankful for the family in which I grew up with and loved as well as my three, oh-so-adorable Pugs and the numerous unbelievable pets God entrusted to us! Can't beat that kind of a life!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TONY! I miss you so! I'll be seeing you when it is my time! We will all be together again! In the meantime, I will continue to love you!

I'm going to use some of your space to acknowledge Frank Herbsleb, a former Pennsylvania neighbor of my Aunt Annie and me.

Dear Frank!

Didn't know about your passing until weeks after it happened. I'm so sorry that I wasn't able to see you prior to that date. You were a wonderful person--so kind to everyone and every animal! Thank you for caring for Annie's cats which became mine after her passing. They were so well fed and cared for by you!

I always enjoyed talking with you whenever I did make it out to Point Pleasant/Pipersville! Hindsight action would have had me living out there with Annie after I had retired. It would have been a dream life!

Thinking back at the times I surprised you with the various and different birthday parties, I can still see your face and reaction! You had said that you didn't like surprises but deep down in that loving heart of yours, you really did--especially the one that I promised (and kept my word) would be the last surprise party!

I love you Tony!! Miss you very much!!
I feel your presence around me all of the time! Thank you for everything! Thank you for being you!!!

Until the twelfth of never. . .

Love always,
Your Kay

My Dearest Tony,

Although tomorrow is your birthday and I don't know if I will be able to make it to a computer, I've decided to write you today so that I don't miss the opportunity!

One of the Bridgeview police officers gave me a photo of you from years back when I didn't even know you. It brought back many, many wonderful memories! He and I talked about you and what a great person you have always been! The photo of you on the three-wheeler is still proudly being shown in the glass case in the village hall. No one has forgotten you!

I love you very much my dear Tony! I miss you each and every day! There are days when I tell Cha Ching and Mai Shu all about you and how much they would have loved being with you as well! Don't forget to give a "hi" to all! Tell them that I haven't forgotten any of them! Also, please give my Mom and Dad and Aunt Annie a kiss and hug from me! And please give Butch a hug for me! Thanks Tony!

Happy Birthday, Tony! I know that the wish is early but wanted to send it before it becomes late!

Miss you so much, Tony! Wish you were with me! Think about you always! Love and miss you!

Until the twelfth of never. . .

Love,
Your Kay

Today is Cha Ching's ninth birthday! Just think, next year, he and Mai Shu will be one year older than me. Finally! Someone older than me!

I love and miss you, Tony. Give Butch a hug for me. I miss him as well.
Love both of you! Miss both of you!

Until the twelfth of never. . .

My Dearest Tony,

Although it has been eleven years since you answered God's calling, I still miss you very much! I know that God has a great man up there baking the best cakes; policing the entire Heaven; helping others in need and doing for others because he cares! What a great man you have been, Tony!

I saw former Mayor Daley wiping away tears as they dedicated "Kevin's Garden". He wasn't afraid to show his love for his son and his wife, both of whom must have been on his mind. You have been a man with compassion as well!

I have always been proud of you, my dear Tony! I love and miss you so! I feel your presence every day and am supported by that!

I will forever love you!

Until the twelfth of never. . .

Love,

Your Kay

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, my Dearest Tony!!

It has been ten years since your passing and what would have been our twenty-sixth wedding anniversay.

I know that you wondered why I choose this date for our wedding. Well, it is also the birthday of our beloved Butch. He would have been forty-one today.

Happy Birthday, Butch! I miss you and love you sooooo much! Cha Ching and Mai Shu are my way of extending the love I have for you! Cha Ching reminds me somewhat of you! You know that you are irreplaceable! Even with Cha Ching and Mai Shu, I miss you Butch!

Tony, I know that there isn't another in this world who could replace you! I wouldn't want it any other way! I love you with all of my heart! When I think of you and our life together, I still cry for that great loss! When I talk to you with my heart, your star shines ever-so-brightly!

I love you both very, very much! Miss you as well! I think of how wonderful our life was together!

Until the twelfth of never. . .

Love always,
Your Kay, Tony and your "mama", Butch

Ten years, Tony. Ten years today since you entered into Eternal Life! I miss you very much, Tony! I have always loved you and always will! There is no other who can even come close to your kindness, caring, and love!

I've shown several persons the checks that have our photo on them. Each said that that was a great reminder of the love we shared. So true!!

Thank you, Tony, for all that we shared! Our compatability was known to all who knew us!

My Dearest Tony,

Wanted to share the joy of John's victory with you! He came in with the second highest vote count--second only to Steve.

John is so much like you--an elected official and not a politician! That is what makes him and you so popular!

Love you, Tony! Miss you as well!

Happy 85th Birthday! Wish we were together to celebrate this important day! I miss you very much! I love you forever! Can't believe the time that has flown! Yet I think about you each and every day!

I like to watch Lydia's Italy where I can see the various countrysides of Italy and the dishes that are eaten in each region. I think of you when this program is on. You were good at cooking and excellent at baking!

Love you Tony! Miss you very much! You will always be my sweetheart and the one that I truly love!
