Vanessa Ann Bryant Young, 65, also known as Miss Young amongst her students and peers, passed away peacefully on October 8th, 2021. She was born January 29, 1956 to Jesse and Mamie Bryant in Chicago, IL. She is survived by her son Troy A. Young IV and daughter Stephanie L. Young who were always her babies. After graduating from Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, AL she pursued what would become a lifelong career in Music education. Vanessa was a Phi Delta Kappa inductee, loved to educate, and most importantly loved God.

Besides her children, Vanessa is survived by her father Jesse Bryant; two sisters Jessica Marshell and Frelicia Redmond; nephews, cousins, students and many friends.

A Visitation will be held Friday 10/22/21 at Woodlawn Funeral Home 7750 West Cermak Road Forest Park, IL 60130 from 3pm-8pm. The Funeral will be held Saturday 10/23/2021 at Walls Memorial CME Church 200 S. Sacramento Blvd Chicago, IL from 9:30 am-11:45 am.
