Vincenzo Buttadauro, beloved husband of Maria Buttadauro, nee Polizzotto; Loving father of Salvatore (Phyllis) Buttadauro and Marcello (Patty) Buttadauro; cherished grandfather of Maria Therese Buttadauro; devoted brother of Elvira Difiglia and Gina Buttadauro; dear brother in law of Elizabeth Cesare; preceded in death by four siblings. Visitation Thursday, 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd., at Northwest Hwy., Mt. Prospect. Lying in State Friday 9 a.m. until Mass 10 a.m. at St. Emily Church, 1400 E. Central Rd., Mt. Prospect. Interment All Saints. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Santa Rosalia Society. Funeral info 847 255 7800 or

My Dearest Salvatore, Phyllis & Maria: Our heartfelt and deepest condolences on the passing of Vincenzo. To me he will always be the "eternal gardener" and the epitome of a wonderful man. We are so glad that we had the chance to visit in May 2006 and spend an evening together. The many Thanksgivings spent at their home are memories we will forever cherish. I recall with extreme fondness the many conversations we had in your back yard. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with all of you in this time of extreme sorrow. Memories of the wonderful times will be forever etched on your hearts and that will sustain you through this time of grief. Vincenzo will be looking down from above giving you all strength. Salvatore give your mother a special hug from us, much love to all of you from our home in Canada.

Carissimi Salvatore, Marcello e adorata zia Maria,
affido a questo scritto tutto il mio dolore e la mia incredulità per ciò che è accaduto.
Sono esterrefatta e addolorata per la notizia che Solidea mi ha dato ieri. Incredibile da accettare quanto è successo, tutto così improvviso, tutto così assurdo...... La vita certo che ci riserva momenti così dolorosi, così imprevedibili. Non posso partire così all'improvviso, ma vorrei essere con voi in questo preciso momento per condividere questo immenso dolore!!!
Ho ancora nei miei occhi il suo viso così pieno di vitalità e la sua voglia di fare, instancabile nel suo lavoro, se penso alla sua operosità quando è mancata la corrente questa estate, non ha dormito la notte per essere all'erta. Triste e doloroso pensare adesso al suo ricordo, ma ,
Salvatore e Marcello è giusto che in questo momento abbiate la certezza
e la consapevolezza di avare avuto un grande Padre, un grande uomo leale, onesto e generoso: questo è ciò che si dirà di Lui, un'eredità
di valori che ha passato a Voi e di cui dovete essere orgogliosi.
Abbiamo perso un grande Uomo, il dolore è immenso, io con Antonio, Luca, mamma Iolanda, che in questo momento è inconsolabile, Vi siamo vicini con tutto il nostro affetto che abbiamo per voi e che abbiamo sempre avuto per il ns. unico zio Enzo .
