Wayne Dupuis Obituary

Rev. Wayne G. Dupuis, C.S.V., Viatorian priest, died on Saturday, Nov. 20 in Las Vegas, NV at the age of 67. He was born in Kankakee, IL on April 20, 1937 and was preceded in death by his parents, the late Franklin Hubert and Marie Catherine, nee Kanowski, Dupuis. He is survived by three sisters, Ardis and Kathleen Dupuis and Jane Petre. Fr. Dupuis professed his First Vows as a Viatorian on Sept. 8, 1954. Bishop Romeo Blanchette ordained him priest on June 6, 1970. He earned a B.S. in Commerce from Loyola University in Chicago and a Master's in Education Administration from Catholic University in Washington, DC. He served at several Viatorian staffed high schools which include Spalding Institute in Peoria, IL, Cathedral Boys' High School in Springfield, IL, Alleman High School in Rock Island, IL, Griffin High School in Springfield, IL and Saint Viator High School in Arlington Heights, IL. In 1992, he was assigned as Associate Pastor at St. Viator Parish in Las Vegas, NV, where he served until his death. Visitation will be at St. Viator Parish, Las Vegas, on Tuesday, Nov. 23, from 1 to 7:30 p.m. There will be a Mass of Resurrection on Wednesday, Nov. 24 at 10 a.m. An additional viewing will be held Saturday, Nov. 27, at Maternity B.V.M. Parish in Bourbonnais, IL from 8 to 10 a.m. A Mass of Resurrection will follow. Interment will be at Maternity B.V.M. Cemetery in Bourbonnais, IL.
