Wayne E. Peters

Wayne Peters, 89, passed away Monday, October 10, 2022. Born in Chicago to parents Charles and Clara Peters, Wayne was the third of four children. After attending Hyde Park High School, Wayne earned his bachelors degree from the University of Illinois and his law degree from the University of Chicago. Wayne proudly served in the US Army Reserves from 1958-1963. Wayne married Mimi Reznick on October 12, 1958, and they enjoyed more than 63 years of marriage. Loyal and true, Wayne had a deep love of family. Wayne was passionate about practicing law, which he did until his passing. His hobbies included swimming, sailing, and being by Lake Michigan, where he and Mimi made their home for the past 35 years. He was the beloved husband of the late Mimi; devoted father of Pamela (Christopher) Alporque, Carolyn (James) Larsen, and Monica (Matthew) Goyer; cherished grandfather of Kenneth (Wanda Straka) Severs, Elizabeth (Kyle) Smith, Paul (Claire Norberg) Larsen, Michelle (Michael) Scholl, Kai Alporque, Amber (Mustafa) Hakami, and Kaitlin (Paul) Mar; proud great-grandfather of Kadin, Kirin, Kyler, Cora, Aiyla, and Gabriel; dear brother of Connie (Don) Cohen, Loren Peters, and the late Charles (late Janet) Peters; will be deeply missed by close nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 23, 11 AM, at Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Blvd, Wilmette. Interment private.
