I have only pleasant memories of Jim during the time I spent at
Argonne_AMD. Knowledgeable, creative, friendly and helpful, the
world is a better place for Jim's having been here. Sincere condoleces to the family.

Joanne and family,
I only had a brief chance to know Jim when I organized a retirement dinner for my predecessor Brian Ford of the Numerical Algorithms Group back in 2004. He added life to that milestone event and to all he touched in our international community of mathematicians, numerical analysts and software engineers. He will be missed.
Best Regards,

I remember Jim very well as a co-worker at Argonne who was always pleasant and fun to be around. His way of looking at things often "made my day". My condolences to his family for the great loss they have suffered.
