Bill was my roommate at the first Jamison Door sales meeting I attended in Hagerstown, MD in 1973. We remained friends through all of the years since. We had a lot of laughs together. I retired from Jamison in 2007. My sincere sympathy and sorrow goes out to Scott and his family.

Bill, Dad knew you when you were tiny. Your wonderful mom let him live with you guys when he couldn't afford much at all. It is hard for him to remember much now but he loved you and your family. Your family is in our prayers.

We had fun this day.

I was shocked and saddened when I learned of Bill's sudden passing. I have known Bill for over 25 years and have never met a finer man. His head for business, his sense of humor and his passion for golf are all things to be admired. But he held the love of his children and his grandchildren above everything else. It was an honor to have known him and, he will be missed.

Remembering Bill the first word that comes to mind is gentleman.I think it's appropriate that his game was golf, often referred to as "the gentlemans game."I will miss him as a fiend, business man and golfer. My prayers are for all of those he left behind.

To The Melton Family,
I met Bill in 1988 due to being in the construction industry. I must say I will never forget him as he made many positive impacts both personally and in business. He always took time for all of us no matter the issue. I will never forget all of the fond memories doing business with him or playing a round of golf. And what a golfer he was! He often spoke of his love for his family and that magical sparkle would come to his eyes. He introduced me to his brother Scott (whom I am proud to call one of my best friends).
He gave me many a glimpse of what we all hope is heaven (playing golf at Rolling Green). Bill, you will be missed and NEVER forgotten! Your friends; John Vance & Family.

To the Melton Family. It was an honor to have known Bill, we considered him a dear friend. As a fellow Rolling Green member, I enjoyed many rounds of golf, and playing cards with Billy. In fact it was Bill who gave me probably one of the best golf tips. He told me I should quit this game. Please remember in your time of sorrow, that Bill was loved by many at Rolling Green. My wife Cathy and I also socialized with Billy outside of Rolling Green. His company and friendship, and that wonderful sense of humor, will truly be missed. Please accept are most heartfelt condolences. May God Bless and watch over your family during this most trying of times.
Hey Billy, don't worry, there are no "SHANKS IN HEAVEN"!

Dear Melton Family,
I was very sad to hear the news of Billy's passing, he was one of the greatest guys out there. He taught me a ton on how to play golf and respect the game. I was talking to someone in the last couple of days, since his passing, and I think that the best thing that came out of the conversation was that you couldn't ever find anything bad to say about Billy, he was one of the best and will be truly missed. I am sorry for your loss. Our prayers are with your family.
God Bless

To the Melton Family,
I wanted to expresence my condolences regarding your sudden and tragic loss. I hope my prayers can assuage the anguish of your bereavement. I came to know Bill indirectly during my brief tenure at Rolling Green Country Club. He was a man that exuded class, distinction and poise. I was always in awe at the level of his golf game and more so by the type of person he was. He will be missed by many I am quite certain. Again, my heartfelt sympathies. Dr. James Flood

Dear Melton Family,
I was saddened to hear about Bill. He was a wonderful person that I was fortunate to know. I always enjoyed playing golf with him and talking about the great times over the years when he played golf at Old Orchard Country Club. Just last year I was on the roof of the club house doing some work when I looked down and saw Bill walking up to play. I was so happy to see him I started yelling "BILL IS BACK" . We laughed together and out to play he went. Bill was a great player and student of the game that always maintained his cool. I will never forget him and his remarkable personality. I always looked forward to the member guest tournament at Rolling Green because it was a chance to play with Bill and Scott. The laughter and time was never enough that I always wanted it to continue. Our paryers go out to your family at this difficult time but the momories we have will never fade. God Bless
