Alicia, I am so sorry for your loss. I am certain nothing I say will ease your pain right now. Only know that I am thinking of you and wishing you and your family well. I didn't know your mother well, but I do know you and for that I am grateful. She left a wonderful legacy in you. You are in my thoughts.

Bob and Family:
So very sorry to hear about Wilma. What a wonderful wife and mother and friend to our family. I will never forget all the visits she made to the hospital before my dad passed away. And of course her love for her VW bugs! We will miss her too.

We received word yesterday that Wilma passed away.
I don't think Wilma lost a battle with cancer; it was God who simply had enough of her suffering and took her home to Himself. I do beleive that and hope her family embraces this fact as well. Wilma never lost anything.
I've known Wilma for almost 50 years. We met as young girls, secretaries, working at ITT Kellogg; Wilma went on to social work and I went into journalism. Wilma never stood for complacency or resting on one's laurels. When I think back to all those young days and whet we did and what we achieved, I am in wonder of it all.
I remember the day Wilma called me to say that the newly founded PHD could not afford to pay its phone bill of $35. It seems so little now but we were all young and struggling. None of us had "extra" money.
Wilma turned to me because she knew that when her efforts were exhausted, I would have her back; sure enough a resource was found and PHD got press coverage which brought in more funds. The phones stayed up and running. Wilma smiled.
Over the years, I found that if Wilma couldn't do something herself, she did not hesitate to press her friends into action. In simple terms that meant Wilma put her foot in the center of your back to accomplish the goal she sought. Wilma's boot prints are on a lot of backs and the world is a better place because of her persistence, her zeal to make things always better than they were.
My regret is that Wilma didn't go into politics. The world would be a far better, smarter and moral place if she had.
Sincerely,
