Larry Petersen Obituary

LARRY 'PETE' PETERSEN Larry "Pete" Petersen was born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 19, 1946. He graduated from John Burroughs High School in Burbank in 1964 and enlisted in the US Navy. He served three deployments in the Tonkin Gulf during the Vietnam War. After being discharged from the Navy, he and Andrea Dowd were married on October 19, 1968 in North Hollywood. They migrated north during their marriage, finally settling in Chico in 1984. Pete reenlisted in 1976, joining the California National Guard. He was a member of the 112th Engineering Company and was called up to assist during earthquakes, floods, and fires. Pete worked for the California DMV retiring after 30 years of service. During his retirement he and Andrea traveled extensively, adding to their many wonderful lifetime memories. Pete passed away on December 19, 2020. In addition to Andrea, he is survived by their children Rachel Eccles of Chico, Justin Petersen of Chico, and Sarah Bruschi of Lafayette. He also leaves behind his four grandchildren who he adored- Aubrey Eccles, Addysen Badame-Petersen, and Zane and Martin Bruschi.
