LAWRENCE LARRY JOHN SCOTT, JR. Lawrence "Larry" John Scott Jr., 78, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 21, 2023. Larry was born on October 19, 1944, in Detroit Michigan to Lawrence Scott and Margaret Scott and was the oldest of eight brothers and sisters. Larry is a veteran who served in the United States Air Force for eight years. He worked as a locksmith for over 35 years at California State University, Chico. He absolutely loved his career and mentored many others who worked in the key shop during his tenure. Larry enjoyed traveling with his wife Janet, who he was married to for many years. He also enjoyed traveling with friends, loved playing golf, was an avid reader, and enjoyed rock and roll music. Larry was a great friend to many and befriended others wherever he went. He was well-loved by local residents in Paradise and Pollock Pines while living there. Larry was a wonderful and loving father and grandfather. Affectionately known as "Poppa", he would go to great lengths to spend time with his grandchildren, who adored him. Larry is survived by his children Kevin, Renae, Rachelle, Adam, and Amy; sons-in-law Jason and Joel; daughter-in-law Barbi; eleven grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
