LEWIS H. BROGAN Dr. Lewis H. Brogan, a long-term resident and business owner in Chico, CA, died peacefully in his sleep on December 20, 2021, at the age of 78, at his home, San Tan Valley, AZ. He is survived by his wife Kathryn (Kats) of 36 years, his son and daughter, Patrick and Kimberly, and three grandsons, Liam, Colin and Aiden. He moved to Chico, partnered with Dr. Bob Allen at Erickson Veterinary Hospital for 11 years, purchased the hospital, retired in February 2021, and concluded a 50-year career. Lew was on the Board of Directors of the YMCA, '77-79. He was president of the Chico Rotary Club, '86-87 and the recipient of several Paul Harris Fellow awards. He helped organize and build Golden Valley Bank, Chico, 2006. He was certified as an Honorary Roll Member of the AVMA, 2014. Lew enjoyed a variety of sports including softball, racquetball, bocce ball, hunting with his labradors, golfing at Butte Creek Country Club, Chico, and collecting premium wines. A Celebration of Life is planned on January 29, 10 am, Evangelical Free Church, Chico, 1193 Filbert Ave. A fellowship gathering will follow the service.

I remember he had an uncanny knowledge of red wines. We broke bread as fellow Fantasy Football members many times. He was a great guy, he will be missed.

Dr.Brogan took care of our pets for 40 plus years. We are sad to hear of his passing.
We had a retriever cross Sadie who had cancer . He sent us to Sacramento To have her surgery. She had chemo which was totally successful. This was in 1992. The Chico office gave her the chemo. She was six when she had surgery and 14 when died, not of cancer but of heart failure and old age. I think it might have been one of the chemo treatment back then. We were so thankful to Dr. Brogan for helping us .
