Maureen Carpenter. Obituary

MAUREEN LYNNE (EDIGER) CARPENTER It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Maureen Lynne (Ediger) Carpenter, of San Antonio, TX on August 25, 2021, at the age of 55 years. Maureen will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 27 years, Chris Carpenter; daughter, Emily (Hunter) Barthels; son, Zachery Carpenter; parents, Bob and Pat Ediger; sisters, Maddie Fullerton and Shelly Ali; brother, Alan (Tracey) Ediger; many nieces and nephews; and extended family and many friends. She was preceeded in death by her Daddy, Capt. Marshall J. Dickerson USAF in 1972. She was born February 20, 1966 in Bangor, ME, lived in Louisiana & North Carolina, & then moved to Chico in 1973 where she graduated from Pleasant Valley High School in 1984. While there, she was active in Student Government, Cheerleading and sports. She was also active in the Trinity United Methodist youth group. Maureen attended CSU, Chico for two years before graduating from CSU, Humboldt. After graduating college, Maureen had a very successful career, focused on Human Resources and Recruiting where she loved working and helping people. While working in Seattle WA, she met the love of her life and husband, Chris. In recent years, she worked for USAA as a Director in Human Resources in San Antonio. Maureen's family was very important to her. Some of her biggest enjoyments were being actively involved with Emily and Zach's FFA, sports and many other family activities. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially gardening and going to the ocean. Maureen was very positive, fun-loving caring! Private family services will be held at a later date in Texas and California. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society and or Promised Land Outdoors.
