1927 - 2017

MICHAEL RAMON Michael R. Ramon, "Mike", passed away on June 29, 2017, at the age of 90. Michael Ramon was born in Paris, France, and came to this country in 1944 to get flight training from the U.S. Air Force. He then returned to the Free French Army and to duty in North Africa. A devoted Father, and Grandfather, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Ramon in 1989, and his daughter, Cynthia Reynolds in 2007. He is survived by his 4 children, Michael Ramon of Washington, Andree Prendergast of the Bay Area., Betty Ramon of Chico, and Dorothy C. Ramon of Sacramento. He has 8 Grandchildren, and 17 Great Grandchildren. He will always be remembered for the wonderful stories he shared with family, friends, and many members of the community, of his childhood, growing up in France and Spain, and his adventures and experiences as he came to the United States. Although he was a College Professor with a PhD and taught French and Spanish for many years, his great passion in life was writing. After retiring as a University Professor, he devoted his life to his writings. He was a published author, and wrote books, articles, screen plays, pamphlets, and political happenings. He never tired from writingon the contrary, it kept him alive and vibrant as he expressed himself through his stories of fiction, romance, suspense, and mystery. A Philospher in spirit and mind, he shared many interesting viewpoints, perspectives, and learnings, as he taught us to think, analyze and explore. He believed in truth and discipline, but on a less serious note, loved travel and adventure. His many trips throughout the world to various countries only added depth to his writings, teachings, and love of life. He found relaxation in his many walks in the Bidwell Park, where for many years, you could see the "nice man with a hat and cane", walking in the park, enjoying the beauty of nature, always with a friendly hello and a good word for passersby's, some of whom may even remember him kindly. We will miss him more than words can express, but he will forever be in our hearts, as we treasure our time with him and hold tight our cherished memories.
