Robert Goff Obituary

ROBERT LEE "BOB" GOFF Bob Goff 71, passed into spirit September 5, 2013 in his home in Chico, CA of pancreatic cancer. He was born January 7, 1942 in Des Moines, Iowa to Walter and Dorothy Goff. He moved to Chico to attend college in 1971 and be began his teaching career in 1975 as a Learning Disability Specialist with the Glenn County Schools until his retirement in 1998. He is survived by his wife Judy Goff, his two daughters Diane DeGarmo and Marilyn DeGarmo, his sister Helen Crowe and his two granddaughters Vanessa James and Jacquelyn James and great -granddaughter Charlize Hernandez. Bob will long be remembered as a devote husband, father, and grandfather and brother to his sister Helen. Bob also will be remembered by his special education students as a teacher who made a difference in their lives. Bob loved to travel extensively with his wife Judy. They had 15 years of world travel since their retirement. They also enjoyed RV-ing throughout the United States. They loved square dancing as well. Bob had a good life and will be remembered for his inate wisdom, kindness, sense of humor, and appreciation of nature. Bob took to heart and practiced his favorite lyrics from the Nat King Cole song "Nature Boy", "The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return." Bob left this world with a sense of peace and love thanks to the wonderful Hospice support he received. His wish to pass into spirit in his own home was fulfilled. A celebration of Bob's life will be held on October 6th at 1:00-3:00 pm at the Elks Lodge, Chico, CA.
