Terry Eischens Obituary

Terry H. Eischens, 55, of Taopi, died peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his loved ones Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Terry was born June 2, 1958, in Red Wing, to Harold and Katherine (Pietsch) Eischens. He graduated from Southland High School in 1976. Terry married Kari Newkirk on April 24, 1982, at United Church in Grand Meadow. He spent all of his life working in road construction most notably for David Spinler Construction and most recently for RDS Trucking.

Terry enjoyed NASCAR, being in his shop, polishing his wheels, riding his motorcycle, racing and demos, but most of all, he loved spending time with his grandsons. The door to his shop was always open and everyone was welcome.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Roger Newkirk and sister-in-law, Gina Eischens.

Terry is survived by his wife, Kari Eischens, Taopi; children, Josh (Shilo) Eischens, Taopi, Jennie (Jesse) Crews, Waltham and Jill Eischens, Taopi; grandsons, Cory and Colten; parents, Harold and Katherine Eischens, Taopi; brothers and sisters-in-law, Keith Eischens, Taopi, Butch (Nancy) Eischens, Dodge Center and Steve (Janice) Eischens, Taopi; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gwen (Al) Swenson, Adams, Charlene (Charlie) Jax, Bloomington, Lynn (Paul Kraetsch) Eischens, Brownsdale and Peggy (Jason Grisim) Nagele, LeRoy; mother-in-law, Donna Newkirk, St. Petersburg, Fla.; brother-in-law, Todd Newkirk, Grand Meadow; and many nieces and nephews.

The honorary bearers will be Rick Shane, Terry Anderson, Randy Ruechel, Earl Kiefer, Hank Henry, Robert Schmidt, Jake Goodale, Jake Hovland, Johnny Guttormson and Andrew Eischens.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, at the Adams Funeral Home, with the Rev. Karen Ashton officiating. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Taopi.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 10, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, and for one hour before the service on Wednesday morning.
