Derek Tolbert Shepherd

Derek Tolbert Shepherd, 56, son of the late Tolbert and Doris Shepherd, Corrections Officer with Cross City Correctional Institution, US Army Veteran and 1993 Graduate of Chiefland High School who later received his BS Degree from University of Phoenix peacefully left this earthly scene July 2, 2021 at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida.
The Homegoing Celebration (with Military Honors) will be held 9 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2021, at The Potter's House (Chiefland) where Pastor Lance Hayes is Pastor, with Pastor Cheryl Shelton as the Eulogist. The burial will follow at the Trenton Community Cemetery (Trenton).
Mr. Shepherd will be viewed at the Funeral Home from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday – and at the church Saturday following the eulogy. The procession will form at Mr. and Mrs. Shepherd's residence, 714 NE 3rd Street, Chiefland, at 8:30 a.m.
Cherished Memories will linger with his loving wife – Cassandra Johnson Shepherd of Chiefland; sons – Favien Shepherd of Tampa, Derek Shepherd II of Florence, Knetucky, and Deshamar Shepherd of Chiefland, Daughter - Mar'Shanee Shepherd of Tampa; five grandchildren; (sister – Donna Robinson preceded him in death); brothers – Tolbert Leroy Sheppard (Alma Marie), Darien Shepherd (Shelly) of Chiefland; Daryl Shepherd (Kathy) of Tallahassee; Dwayne Shepherd (Heather) of Chiefland; in-laws; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
