Uncle I will always remember the twinkle in your eye and your contagious laugh. I remember evenings where you and my Dad would play pool together at your house, it was always a competitive game! Everyone in town knew you made the best smoked Venison jerky. You will be greatly missed

Ah, Lee! I can't HELP but SMILE WARMLY in my heart as I ponder you, bro. My BEST friend from 4th Grade at Columbian Elementary through Seton Middle School, Central High and beyond. If my memory serves me correctly we met playing marbles on the Columbian dirt playground, and our COMPETITIVE friendship was born. From fishing and hunting to foosball and talking about LIFE and our high school crushes in your basement bedroom I CHERISH our memories, my friend.
You STILL have the record of catching the BIGGEST 135 pound sucker at San Isabel when you BURIED at LEAST 3 hooks on your Rapala lure in my back with your FAMOUS sidearm cast! Now that I think back, was that payback for the bite scars you received from our German Shepherd Prince a few years earlier? You have also influenced my Walk With Jesus when we spoke of Faith, my friend. I was a 'religious' Catholic growing up and you were the first to encourage me to examine WHO This Jesus Christ really IS and The Sacred Romance He WANTS With EVERYONE. EXCITED for our Reunion In Christ's Presence, Lee :o)!!
Until Then and BEYOND, I LOVE you dude :o)!!

I went to school with Leander since Columbian Elementary. He was so nice, and so quiet but still made a big impact on me. May God bless you all with great memories. Rest in Peace my sweet childhood friend.

The Cano family were a big part of the neighborhood. My memories of Lee span countless fishing trips, shooting excursions and peashooter battles. I worked at YACC with Jess, and my lifelong love for the guitar was a result of Jess selling me my first decent guitar which I still have to this day. I learned the value of exercise from Sam which I never forgot, and I have no doubt that staying in shape helped me to defeat cancer on multiple occasions. Mrs. Cano's cooking (especially her fishloafs) are as much a legendary part of my youth as my Grandma's hamburgers. While we always joked that Lee was our very own "Eddie Haskell", he was very much another brother in our family. While his passing is unfortunate, the memories that he left us will never be forgotten. Blessings to the Cano family at this difficult time.
