Vivian - I'm so very sorry to hear about Jake's death. Since Jake loved to fly, I think the poem by John Magee "High Flight" would be appropriate. I can't post it here, but when you feel like it, look it up. http://www.deltaweb.co.uk/spitfire/hiflight.htm
It was a favorite of my dad's, also a pilot.

Hugs & good thoughts for you.

I want to offer my sympathies for the loss tothe Noble family. Mr. Noble was my supervisor in the work study program the summer before I entered OU-C, in 1967. I have always remembered his stories and his ability to get your best from your efforts. I always felt that he, other teachers and then certain college instructors helped guide me and help me inlife. He will be missed.

Jake was a friend and fellow educator. One of my memories is the story of a Zane Trace student who was eating in the cafeteria. The student started choking and Jake immediately performed the Heimlich maneuver and saved the student's life.

I knew him first when he was a teenager working after school at Baldwin Printers. He was a likable, responsible young man.

My. Noble was my 8th grade social studies teacher. He was also the supervisor at Poland Park. He taught us respect and the feeling of accomplishment. A well respected man in the community, he touched many young lives including my own. The family can be proud of this man. I know that we all were!! My deepest sympathy.

I first met Mr Noble when he was a teacher at Chillicothe Schools and I was a student there. Later, he gave me my first teaching job at Zane Trace elementary. When I decided to move to New Mexico, he wrote me a glowing letter of recommendation, which helped me get hired there.

It was a pleasure to work with Mr Noble and I feel honored to have known him. My sincere condolences to his family.

Jake ran the Poland Park summer program when I was growing up in Chillicothe in the early 1960s. He influenced me in a positive way, so much so that I have often thought of him and all he did for young people. He was a good man.
