Joanne Cory Obituary
She was born on March 14, 1924, in Ross County, one of eleven children born to the late Fay T. and Blanche Dick Junk. She married John M. Cory on April 24, 1948 and he preceded her in death on October 14, 1997.
She is survived by one daughter, Jill (Al) Smith; one son, John David (Lynn) Cory all of Chillicothe; one grandson, Scott (Jamie) Metzger of Williamsport; two great grandsons, Dalton and Langston Metzger; one step grandson, Matthew Sunday; one step granddaughter, Sarah (Ben) Knisley; one sister, Nancy Warner of Commercial Point; four brothers, Robert F. and Ralph D. Junk of Frankfort, David (Frances) Junk of Washington C.H., Sam (Jackie) Junk of Chillicothe; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, John A., Thomas, Harry and Neil Junk; one sister, Jane Cardi.
Joanne was a 1942 graduate of Frankfort High School. For twenty five years, she enjoyed the time she worked at the Chillicothe YMCA. She was a lifetime member of the Frankfort United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Daughters of Lydia Sunday School class. As a 62 year member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Frankfort American Legion, she proudly carried the American flag at many parades and served the auxiliary in many other ways. She loved her country and flag. She was an avid OSU Buckeye fan and most of all she loved her farm and after a day of mowing she saw a job well done.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2010 in the Ebright Funeral Home, Frankfort with Rev. David Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
