Lisa Glassco Obituary

Lisa Lynn Glassco

Formerly of CHILLICOTHE: Lisa Lynn "Dee Dee — Mona" Glassco formerly of Chillicothe, Ohio died Friday, September 22, 2017 at Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio after an extended illness. Lisa was employed through various retail corporate offices, Victoria's Secret, The Limited, Lane Bryant and lastly, DSW. From a very young age, Lisa was a high energy person. While in elementary and high school she enjoyed track and cheerleading. She was an avid athlete and coached many young teens in the Ohio Heat track club. She was always lending an ear to her many co-workers and friends. From her social days at Chillicothe High School, graduating in 1984, to her collegiate days at The Ohio State University, graduating in 1988, Lisa was always out there and everywhere. Her daughter, Ivy Jane, was her biggest inspiration and love. She spent countless time supporting Ivy throughout her childhood and in many activities. Lisa drove many miles, sat in hundreds of bleachers and was her biggest fan. She spent every Christmas visiting her father in Chillicothe, making it a tradition of Christmas Eve with Grandpa for Ivy. She persevered when she was tired and aching. We never felt her pain, nor did she complain, but her endurance to reach Ivy's goals of driving, prom, graduation and being an athletic/academic scholarship freshman at Ball State University were admirable. Her will to keep "keeping on" was amazing by the goals she set in her mind and in her heart. When news of her illness set in, she kept her strength. Every set back, she pushed forward, leaning on the strength of her Mother, the two were inseparable during her illness. Lisa leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Ivy Jane McKee of Columbus, OH; mother, Linda Sue (Randall) Parker of Columbus; and father Ellsworth Glassco, Jr. of Chillicothe; sister, Arnett (Keely Freeman) Glassco of Cincinnati; and a brother, Ellsworth (Lisa N. Smith) Glassco, III of Columbus. Preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ralph and Clara Ford, and by her paternal grandparents, Ellsworth Sr. and Virginia Glassco. She also leaves to cherish her memory her aunts, uncles, a niece, a nephew, cousins, dear friends, Jamie Sagrilla, Jeff Chaykowski, Michelle Diana and a host of many special friends. Funeral service 10:00 am Friday, September 29, 2017 in the chapel of DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E. Long St., Columbus, OH 43203 where the family will receive friends Friday, 9:00 am until the start of services. Interment in Green Lawn Cemetery. Though she was a fierce competitor, a passionate coach and a mom who gave her kid everything she had in the way of mentally and physically prepping her athletic child, I will say this about Lisa. Not one time, not one moment in her baby's High School track career under me did she EVER make any suggestion or pose any idea of how or what I needed to do in terms of coaching Ivy or what direction I should go with her. I loved that so much in Lisa and appreciated the fact that a parent who had put so much into the early Athletic life of her child was willing to trust in my judgement unconditionally. A beautiful woman with personality to match. So happy I got to know her for the short time on this earth that I did. Thanks for that Lisa

When I look at this picture of Lisa, I see her face break into that big, magical smile that lit up the room and I hear her laughter! I hope that the memories of love and laughter envelope you and provide some comfort during this difficult time. May God hold you close!
