Sue C. Beekman

PIKETON: Sue C. Beekman, 81, of State Route 124, Piketon, Ohio, passed away Tuesday October 26, 2015 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

She was born October 13, 1934 in Salyersville, Kentucky a daughter of the late Benjamin and Maxine Gullett Beekman. On January 12, 1953 Sue was united in marriage to Donald A. Beekman who survives.

Also surviving are four children, Kenton Beekman and wife Jennifer of Piketon, Gregory Beekman of Bainbridge, Ohio, Karen Boggs and husband Gary of Piketon, LaDonna Hillman and husband David of Chicago, Illonis; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Beekman of Waverly, Ohio; four grandchildren, Brian and Leslie Beekman, Emily Boggs, Kelly Williams and Clint Boggs; a step grandson, Byron Short, one great grandson, Tanner Beekman.

In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Franklin Beekman; a brother, Lowell Thomas Blanton; and a sister, Mabel Jean Wireman.

Sue was a retired custodian and former bus driver with the Western Local Schools, a member of Smith Chapel Church of Christ in Christian Union and a member of Rebekah Lodge of Waverly.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2015 at Smith Chapel Church of Christ in Christian Union with Pastor Jon Wisecup officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery, Piketon. Friends may call at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
