Meadville - Kathryn D. Gooch, age 101, of Meadville, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 19, 2021, at the Baptist Home in Chillicothe, MO.
Kathryn was born the daughter of Bessie (Darling) and George Meneely on November 8, 1920, in rural Meadville. She married Vaughn Gooch on December 17, 1941. He preceded her in death on April 25, 1997.
Kathryn was a lifelong resident of Meadville, MO, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Meadville. Besides being a homemaker, she worked at the Meadville school lunchroom and later as manager of the Center Apartments in Chillicothe. Kathryn was best known for her ability to grow a bountiful garden and enjoyed sharing with family and friends.
Survivors include her three daughters, Margaret (Gary) Conklin of Gravois Mills, MO, Alice (Vic) Rowden of Buffalo, MO, and Ruthie (Steve) Williams of Wichita, KS; five grandchildren, Kevin, Kristi, Kendall, Kelley, and Monica; eight great grandchildren; one great-great grandson and one sister, Betty Maxwell of Independence, MO.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Vaughn, three brothers, Rex, Lenos and Howard Meneely.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Meadville with burial following at the Meadville Cemetery. A scheduled visitation with family present will precede the services at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 24 at the church.
