Linda Sue Simmons

1946 - 2019

Mrs. Linda Sue Simmons, age 73, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2019. She was born Aug. 26, 1946 in Chipley, Florida to WR and Maggie Louise Goddin Commander.

Linda was a resident of Ponce De Leon, Florida. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She worked with the Holmes County School District for many years. She enjoyed crafting, cooking and also needle working. She especially enjoyed family gatherings.

Linda is preceded in death by her father and mother; and her late husband.

Linda is survived by her and Joe's children, Brenda and Mark Wilde, Glenda and Benny Childress, Keith and Kim Ammons, and Kevin and Alicia Ammons; sister Mamie Dean; niece Cindy McCoach and husband Bill; grandchildren Matthew and Megan Wilde, Macie Wilde, Ashley and Michael Porter, Maggie and Zach White, Chris and Austin Childress, Delaney Ammons, Kevin and Lynzee Ammons, Jr., Kelby and Iashsiyha Ammons; ten great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; one great niece and two great nephews.

A time of visitation was held from 6 p.m. ~ 8 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435. Funeral service was held at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 28, 2019 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home, with Reverend Mike McVay officiating. Those serving as pallbearers were Matthew Wilde, Chris Childress, Keaton Porter, Kevin Ammons, Jr., Kelby Ammons, Michael Porter, Zack White, and Adam Schroeder.
