Diane Hakes Obituary

GOETZ - Diane "Lady Di" Rose (Linder) Hakes, 60, of Cadott, town of Goetz, died peacefully at her home Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, with Northwest Wisconsin Hospice assisting.   

Lady Di was born Dec. 1, 1949, in Cumberland, the daughter of Charles and Mona (Strickland) Linder.

Lady Di graduated from Rice Lake High School in 1968. She worked at Cray Research as a return coordinator until 1997. Lady Di moved to Cadott, where she married Arnold Hakes in 1996. They had resided there together since.

Lady Di traveled the world. She also enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and riding horses. She was well liked by everyone she met.

Lady Di is survived by: her husband, Arnold; mother, Mona; two sons, Jarrod (Jessica) Berg and Jon Berg, all of Rice Lake; two stepdaughters, Anna (Wayne) Bergman of Augusta and Hope (Tony) Peterson of Boyd; six grandchildren, Kaitlin and Justine Berg, Adaline and Keegan Peterson, and Zachary and Zander Bergman; two brothers, Rick (Mary) Linder of Rice Lake and Bradley (Laurie) Linder of Rice Lake; and two sisters, Judith McGarrity of Kenniwick, Wash., and Beverly Abrolat of Eau Claire; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 2 at Methodist Church, Jim Falls, with family friend, John Malison, officiating. Friends are invited to a noon luncheon at Anson Town Hall.

The Cremation Society of Wisconsin, Altoona, is serving the family.
