Dorothy Olson Obituary
CADOTT/CHIPPEWA FALLS - Dorothy Ann Olson, 71, of Cadott, formerly of Chippewa Falls, died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016.
She was born Oct. 6, 1944, in Chippewa Falls, to Lorna (Gehl) and Emil Hagedorn. She graduated from Chippewa Falls Senior High School, class of 1962. She then received a certificate in accounting from Chippewa Valley Technical College.
In 1972, she married Richard L. Olson, and they later divorced.
Over the years, Dorothy and her husband, owned several businesses in the area, and Dorothy did the accounting for them and helped with the daily management. Dorothy also worked as a nurse's aide at St. Joseph's Home Care and then for Chippewa County Home Care for many years until retirement.
Dorothy had a strong faith and was a devoted Christian woman. She raised her five children in a loving home, and emphasized going to church and Sunday school each week. She was a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls, where she was baptized and where all of her children were confirmed.
She is survived by a daughter, Regina Bandach of Richmond, Ky.; four sons, Rene of Rothschild, Richard (Lynn), Rodger (Julie Litzer) and Christopher (Amanda), all of Wausau; a sister, Carol Karnig of New Windsor, N.Y.; a brother-in-law, Fred Gauger of Chippewa Falls; 11 grandchildren, Christian, Aiden, Austin and Coren Bandach, Alexandra, Bianca, Roselyn, Harper, Nicholas, Justin and Matthew Olson; three great-granddaughters, Annabella, Brookelyn and Amaya Olson; best friends, Cheryl and Jim Frisch of Eau Claire; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters, Elsie Bakeman, Mary Jane Gauger and Diane Zillyette.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel. Chippewa Falls with the Rev. William Plautz of Faith Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Prairie View Cemetery, village of Lake Hallie.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial are appreciated and preferred to the family.
