Eileen D. Brantner, 88, passed away Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at The Neighbors of Dunn County.
Eileen was born May 17, 1929, in Menomonie, to Kenneth and Hazel (Zopp) Whinnery. She graduated from Menomonie High School in 1947.
Eileen married Adolph "Shorty" Brantner Nov. 15, 1947. Eileen was a homemaker and worked as a bookkeeper at Lee's Drug Store. Her many talents included, sewing, knitting, crocheting, ceramics, gardening and doing woodworking with "Shorty."
They together were both honored as Senior Citizens of the Year for their dedication and work at the Menomonie Senior Center.
They delivered meals on wheels together for many years. Eileen volunteered at the hospital gift shop for many years and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Menomonie.
Eileen is survived by daughter, Marie (David) Kreutzer; and son, Steve (Lynn) Brantner; grandchildren, Wyatt (Tracie) Kreutzer, Mitchell Kreutzer, Erin (Dana) Johansen, Tim (LeAnn) Brantner; great-grandchildren, Dane and Morgan Kreutzer,Taylor Kreutzer, Jackson and Jake Johansen, Kianna, Kyson, Halia, and Taya Brantner
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, "Shorty" Brantner.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, at the United Methodist Church in Menomonie, with Pastor Wendy Slaback officiating. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
She now is at peace and reunited with her husband, "Shorty."
