John Schneider Obituary

John F. Schneider

CHIPPEWA FALLS - John F. Schneider, 93, of Chippewa Falls, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024 at Milestone Senior Living in Eau Claire with his family by his side under the care of Heartland Hospice.

John was born September 20, 1930 in Tilden, the son of William and Clara (Libersky) Schneider. He graduated from St. Peter's Grade School and attended McDonell High School.

John met his loving wife, Marilyn Piotrowski on New Years Eve in 1947. They later married May 6, 1952 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Stanley, WI. They were blessed with seven children. John and Marilyn spent their married life in the Chippewa Falls area.

He worked on the family farm and then was employed for Clover Dairy for seven years. He then went to work for Kerr McGee Oil Industries as a Terminal Operator at the Terminal south of Chippewa Falls. After refusing a transfer to a Madison location, he found employment at Consolidated Thermoplastics Co. in 1968. He was a shift foreman and shift supervisor until his retirement in 1991.

John enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also loved to play golf and take walks in Irvine Park. He never missed a Packer Sunday and still cheered for his Atlanta Braves. He and Marilyn would not miss a game when the grandsons were playing. John was a caring husband and enjoyed being with his family and friends. He looked forward to springtime when he would drive the big tractors on his brothers-in-law farm after he retired.

John was a member of the U.C.T. and belonged to Moose Lodge #246 since 1963. He held most of the elected and appointed offices of the Lodge and was awarded the Fraternal Fellowship Degree in 1978. He is also a life member of Lodge #246. He spent many hours working at the Lodge while the new building was being constructed and took care of the grounds till he turned his keys in at the end of 2011.

In retirement, he enjoyed working outdoors on his lawn, taking his boat out fishing, golfing with his brothers, and working on puzzles. He loved baking cookies. He was a devoted caregiver to his mother, Clara, and wife, Marilyn of 72 years,

John is survived by his wife, Marilyn; four sons, Wayne, LaMoyne (Julie), Mark and Tom; three daughters, Debbie (Fred) Hahn, Joan Prigge, and Paula (Jeff) Amundson; siblings, Norman (Eileen), William (Ann), Joe (Margret), Robert (Judy), Patricia (Joe) Michels, Richard (Donna) and Judith (Jim) Moe. He is further survived by 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 2 step grandsons.
