Joyce C. Erickson, 80, of 14500 46th Ave., Chippewa Falls, village of Lake Hallie, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at Wissota Health, Chippewa Falls, after a 34-year battle with cancer.
She was the daughter of Felix and Melvina (Clark) Normand.
Joyce graduated from Chippewa Falls Senior High School in 1946 and married Palmer J. Erickson on Oct. 12, 1946, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls.
She was employed for 25 years at the Northern Center for the Developmentally Disabled.
Joyce was a loving wife, mother and friend who warmed the hearts of all who knew her with her smile and quiet strength. She will be sadly missed by all.
Joyce is survived by: five sons, Mic (Julie) of Birchwood, Paul (Cathy) of Perham, Minn., Jeffrey (Brenda) Port Charlotte, Fla., Dean (Cathy) and Gregory (Mary Jane) Erickson both of Chippewa Falls; two daughters, JoAnn (Charlie) Emerson of Marathon and Sandy (Dennis) Hoepner of St. Augustine, Fla.; 13 grandchildren, Erik (Anne) Emerson of Baraboo, Tony (Jessica) Emerson of Spencer, Iowa, Bridgett (Douglas) Casadaban of Charlottesville, Va., Breanna (Marc) Cowe of Hyattsville, Md., Chad (Jill) Erickson of Rice Lake, Laurie Erickson of Plainfield, Ill., Jennifer (Scott) Polman of Shakopee, Minn., Brooke Erickson of St. Paul, Minn., Cortny (Keith) Hughes of Panama City, Fla., Monique Erickson of La Verne, Calif., Joshua, Jonathon and Seth Erickson, all of Chippewa Falls; eight great-grandchildren; four brothers, Bud Normand, Vern (Alice) Normand, John (Claudia) Normand and Charles (Cathy) Normand all of Chippewa Falls; one sister Helen Herr of Cornell; and one sister-in-law Irene Erickson of Chippewa Falls.
She was preceded in death by: her husband Palmer J. Erickson on June 12, 1997; her parents; one sister Lucille Woodcock; and one great grandson Hudson Polman.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 21 at the Horan Funeral Home, Chippewa Falls. Rev. Joseph Diermeier from Marathon will be officiating. Entombment will be in Hope Mausoleum, Chippewa Falls.
