Leo Peloquin Obituary

Leo P. Peloquin, Sr., age 97, of the town of Arthur, Cadott, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2012 surrounded by loved ones at the Rutledge Home in Chippewa Falls.

Leo was born March 23, 1915, the son of Peter and Sarah (Billiard) Peloquin on the family farm in the town of Arthur. As a child, Leo grew up in the town of Arthur. Leo married Lois V. Konechney on Oct. 30, 1939 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cadott. Following marriage, Leo lived and farmed in the town of Arthur all of his life, and in this union they had 14 children.

Leo loved playing and watching baseball, playing cards with family, friends and neighbors, camping, watching the Green Bay Packers and socializing with family and friends.

Leo is survived by: his children, Leo G. (Nola) Peloquin of Stanley, Eugene (Darlene) Peloquin of Hudson, Kathleen (Allan) Larson of River Falls, Ida Sandberg of Somerset, Richard (Marge) Peloquin of Jim Falls, Patrick (Melody) Peloquin of Cadott, Steven (Jackie) Peloquin of Cadott, Janet Peloquin of Cadott, Judith (Glenn) Schwarz of Winter, James (Macy) Peloquin of Jim Falls, Michael (Dawn) Peloquin of Cadott, Teresa (Rick) Burich of Cadott and Jeffrey (Teresa) Peloquin of Cornell. He is also survived by: many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Coeta Peloquin of Fallbrook, Calif.; and a sister, Bernadine.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife Lois Peloquin; a son, John "Chuck" Peloquin; two sons-in-law Robert Kohls and James Sandberg; four sisters and five brothers.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Drywood, with Father Edward Shuttleworth officiating. Interment will follow the Mass at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, with a 7:30 p.m. Vigil Prayer Service at the Leiser Funeral Home in Cadott.
