Nathan Normand Obituary

Nathan Scott "Nate" Normand, 38, of Chippewa Falls, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at his home with his wife "best friend" by his side, following a courageous three year battle with cancer.

He was born Jan. 7, 1970, in Chippewa Falls to Merle and Phyllis (McIlquham) Normand. He graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1988.

Nate married Tamara Sue "Tammy" Donais on Dec. 30, 1989, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Chippewa Falls.

He was a field engineer for his brother's company, Wisc. Telecable Inc., since he was 16 years old. He hung up his spikes and hard hat in 2007 due to his illness.

He enjoyed working on trucks and cars, gardening, fishing, camping with his family, going to thrift sales and auctions and most of all enjoyed attending his children's many sporting events. He was also an avid "agate-rock hound" stopping anywhere there was a good rock pile to dig through. He was a hockey coach for the CYHA for several years, truly enjoying the several youngsters he was able to teach the sport of hockey. He was also a life long member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: his wife Tammy; a daughter Natasha Sue; a son Trevor Scott; his father Merle "Bud" Normand all of Chippewa Falls; mother-in-law Linda (Al) Little; father-in-law Larry (Judy) Donais; a sister Sharon (Elton) Olsen of Cornell; four brothers, Tim (Sharon) Normand, Dan (Nancy) Normand, all of Chippewa Falls, Bill (Julie) Normand of Jim Falls and Mark (Diane) Normand of Cadott; sister-in-law Deborah (Matt) Donais-Breezee; along with numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother Phyllis Normand.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 18 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Chippewa Falls, with the Rev. Terri Koca officiating. Interment will follow at Copp Cemetery, town of Anson, Chippewa County.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 17 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel in Chippewa Falls and one hour prior to the service at the church.
