BLOOMER - Richard A. Mohr, 93, of Bloomer, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at Dove Healthcare in Bloomer.
He was born March 23, 1931, in Bloomer, the son of Lawrence and Erna (McElroy) Mohr. Richard graduated from Bloomer High School and married Arlene Pritchard on September 27, 1952, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bloomer, where they both were longtime members. To this union were born seven children.
Richard was both a dairy & poultry farmer for the greater part of his life, working on the family farm. He also worked as an electrician later in life as well at ASCS in Chippewa Falls. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, bowling, and playing cards. He was a member of Bloomer Rod & Gun Club, the Loyal Order of the Moose, and past member of the Bloomer School Board. The couple enjoyed traveling to many states and Germany.
Richard loved to get together with family & friends at various family gatherings. He cherished time spent with all his grandchildren.
He is survived by children, Thomas (Rhonda) Mohr of Bloomer, Nancy Prince of Bloomer, Suzette (Dan) Rosenbrook of Bloomer, Steven (Tammy) Mohr of Chippewa Falls, Deon (Gary) Hartman of Bloomer, and Karla (Lyle) Carlson of Amery, WI; 21 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; a sister, Jeanette (Rich) McElroy of Bloomer; brother-in-law, Lynn Marquardt; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Arlene; son, Jeffrey; granddaughter, Kelly Hartman; daughter-in-law, Susan Mohr; a sister, Margaret; and a brother, Arthur.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 3, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Church in Bloomer with Pastor Gary Hedding officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Thompson Funeral Home in Bloomer, and again one hour prior to services Friday, at church. Burial will follow the service at Bloomer Cemetery.
