CADOTT - Rosemary A. Sonnentag, 75 , loving wife , mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter and sister left this world to journey to heaven on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006.
Rosemary was born in the Town of Sigel on Feb. 17, 1930 to Peter and Mary (Zettler) Semanko. She married Philip Sonnentag on May 18, 1948 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic church in Cadott. They farmed in the Town of Edson, where she caringly raised her 11 children. She faithfully attended Sacred Heart Catholic church in Edson where she was active in St. Francis circle, P.C.C.W and the National Catholic Society of Foresters.
In addition to her church activities, she loved singing and dancing. For many years she, her husband, brother-in- law and sister-in-law entertained many with their singing at nursing homes and family gatherings. They also sang at the Cadott Gospel Music Fest with their daughters.
Rosemary is survived by and will greatly be missed by: her children, Rosalinda (Hod) Smith, Mary (Jimmy) Cole, Lorraine (Martin) Seichter, Corrine (David) Schneider, Phyllis (Randy) Goettl, Ruth (John) Ludwig, Dorothy (Dale) Ankney, Philip "Bud" Jr. (Kris) Sonnentag, Patrick (Sheri) Sonnentag, Darlene (Darrell Schneider) Sonnentag and Edith Sonnentag; her grandchildren, Jason, Dana and Curtis Smith, Lori, Linda, Matt, Walley, Ginny, Jamie, Stacey, Jake and Jeff Seichter, Wendy, Scott, Travis, Sarah, Andy, Aaron, Julie and Emily Schneider, Eric, Kim and Jill Goettl; Tana, Jennifer and Jared Ludwig, Jessica and Adam Ankney, Brad, Amanda and Greg Sonnentag, LeAnn, Audrey, Michael, Joseph and Zachary Sonnentag, Devin Engel and Deanna Schneider; her great-grandchildren, Isabel, Wesley, Johnathan, Michael, Jaedon, Josephine, Rachael, Alexander, Darnell, Austin, Kwinn, Derek, Brooke, Kacie, Vivian, Adrianna, Collin, Brady, Nicholas, Braden, Bryanna, Kaleb; brothers, Roger, Claude and Eugene; sisters, Clara LaFaive and Norma Blessing. She will also be missed by several brothers-and sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews and several dear friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Peter and Mary; husband Philip; infant daughter, Anita; infant son, Leon; grandaughter, Miranda; brothers, Clinton, Lawrence, Joseph, Paul, Daniel and David; sisters Rita, Alice and Lucy.
Her loving, gentle, giving nature and her great-tasting homemade bread, cookies and pies will be missed by all.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16, 2006 at Sacred Heart Catholic church in Edson with Fr. Robert Nelson officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic cemetery in the Town of Edson. Family and friends may call from 4-8:30 p.m. Sunday at the Leiser Funeral Home in Cadott, with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service by Rev. George Olinske followed by a 7:45 p.m. rosary. Friends may call from 9-10:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Someday her humming voice will lead us to her waiting arms in heaven.
