Thomas Copeland Obituary
CORAPEAKE - Thomas Ervin Copeland, 85, of Corapeake, died Sunday, September 14, 2025. He was a son of the late Nathan Richard Copeland and Minnie Jackson Copeland. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son, Thomas Ervin Copeland, Jr.; brothers, Nathan Copeland, Jr., Johnny Copeland and Lenny Copeland; sisters, Pencie Copeland Perry Minter, Ruth Tadlock, Thelma Stancil, Virginia Garrett and Mildred Salmon; and a granddaughter, Erin Jenelle Franke.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 66 years, Iris Jeanette Wilder Copeland; a daughter, Renee Carter (A. Wayne Carter); a sister, Lela Copeland Twine; grandchildren, Cody Thomas Copeland (Tanya), Briana Suzette Copeland and Dalton Bryce Franke (Julia); great-grandchildren, Silas Copeland, Skylar Copeland, Mason Franke and Hayden Franke; numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, September 19, 2025 at Beaver Hill Cemetery, Edenton, North Carolina with Pastor James Willard officiating.
