Brandon Oldham Obituary

Brandon Oldham, age 41, beloved son of Leon and Linda Oldham, passed away on September 28, 2025. Born in 1984, Brandon's life was a testament to devotion, service, and accomplishment, making an immeasurable impact on his community in Hopkinsville and beyond. Brandon's journey began as a proud graduate of Christian County High School in 2002, where his athletic excellence was legendary. He was a four-year varsity basketball starter-a rarity-and helped lead his team to district championships in 1999, 2000, and 2001, a regional championship in 2002, and the Sweet 16. With 1,202 career points over 113 games and an average of 17 points in his senior year, Brandon was honored as senior year all-district and all-region. On the track, his speed left a legacy, setting seven relay records and helping his team capture a state championship in the 4x4 relay. Awarded a full-ride scholarship to Cumberland University in Lebanon, TN, Brandon graduated in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, continuing to make his mark both academically and athletically. Brandon began his career at United Southern Bank in 2007 as a teller. His dedication and professionalism soon led him to roles as Compliance Officer, Loan Officer, and Branch Officer. His commitment to his hometown went beyond banking; Brandon served as Vice Chair of the Local Development Corporation and contributed as a board member to the Hopkinsville Community College Foundation. A steadfast leader in faith, Brandon was an active member of Virginia Street Baptist Church, teaching Young Adult Sunday School, serving as a devoted deacon, and leading as President of the Layman's League. His unwavering commitment to service inspired everyone around him. Brandon is survived by his wife, Shayla Oldham; parents, Leon and Linda Oldham; children, Breon Oldham, Shalexiya Oldham, Jamarius McKnight, Alayah Lander, and Brandon Oldham II; siblings, Leon Anson (Kimberly) Oldham and Cami (Troy) Duncan; and a wide circle of family, friends, colleagues, and church members who mourn his passing. His legacy endures in the lives he touched and the community he helped build. To send a flower arrangement in memory of Brandon Lamont Oldham I, please click here to visit our sympathy store.
