Thompson Hospital surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. Born on April 7, 1953, in Buffalo, N.Y., Ann devoted her life to education, family, and community. She was a beloved and dedicated chemistry teacher for over 30 years, shaping young minds at DeSales High School in Geneva and later at Penn Yan Academy in Penn Yan. Her passion for science and commitment to her students left a lasting impact on generations. Ann's life was full of curiosity and joy. She was an avid reader, a seasoned traveler, and a proud and loyal Buffalo Bills fan. Her home was a reflection of her vibrant spirit, always beautifully decorated to match the seasons, much to the delight of neighbors and friends. Ann cherished her many groups of friends, affectionately looking forward to hosting weekly meetings with "the wine girls," with whom she shared laughter, support, and countless memories over the years. A woman of deep community involvement and faith, Ann was an active member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and Zonta International, and a faithful parishioner at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Penn Yan. Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Victor Paige, her parents Alexander and Emily Smith, brothers Alex and Donald Smith and sister Carol Smith. She is survived by her two sons, Brett Gobe of Rochester, N.Y., and Kyle Gobe (Elisha Gobe) of Canandaigua, N.Y.; and her cherished granddaughter, Kennedy Gobe. Calling hours will be held at Townsend-Wood Zinger Funeral Home, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan, on Sunday, August 24, 2025, from 1 - 3 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in her honor at St. Michael's Church, 312 Liberty St., Penn Yan, on Monday, August 25 at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at St. Michael's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to establish a scholarship in Ann's name. Donations may be sent to Penn Yan Central School District, c/o Ann Paige Scholarship Fund. Ann will be remembered for her generous heart, her brilliant mind, her joyful spirit, and the love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on through the students she inspired, the friends she cherished, and the family she adored. And as Ann finished most conversations, Go Bills!
