Arlene Victoria Stuttle, 82, Marion, entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 28, 2022, at IU Health Blackford Hospital in Hartford City. She was born in Gas City, Indiana, on Monday, March 4, 1940, to Arland and Bertha (Riddle) James McDaniel. On June 9, 1957, she married James Stuttle and he survives.
Arlene attended Mississinewa High School in Gas City. She was a dispatcher for the Mill Township fire department and belonged to the auxiliary. She was a member of Eastern Star in Swayzee and Upland for 57 years. She held several offices, most recently, Marshall. Jim and Arlene owned the 10th Street Market in Jonesboro for several years and she retired from Pierce Governor in Upland at 62. Arlene loved spending time with her family, going to Gas City Speedway races on Friday nights and she looked forward to hosting the Cousin's Reunion every year.
In addition to her husband of 65 years, survivors include children, Mary Lou (Rick) Edgerton of Fort Wayne, Jami (Bobby) Fultz of Gas City, Lincoln (Billie) Stuttle of Marion, April Stuttle of Jonesboro, Margie (Troy) Seeley of Fort Wayne, Travis (Renee) Stuttle of Fremont; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and her fur baby, Pollyanna.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Bertha McDaniel; step-father, Wallace McDaniel; father, Arland James; and sister, Marilyn Eastes.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, December 2, 2022 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Arlene's life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Thom Rittichier officiating. Burial will take place at Gardens of Memory – Marion. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
