Carl D. Rigsby, 75, Marion, went to be with his Lord at 6:32 pm on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Sunday, August 11, 1946, to Glen and Dorothy (Leadman) Rigsby. On April 6, 1968, he married his loving bride, Edna Fay Brummett, and she survives.
Carl was a graduate of Marion High School and retired from the Jonesboro Police Department, where he achieved the rank of Sergeant. He had a heart for serving others and volunteered wherever and whenever he could throughout his life. Carl also worked with the Fire Department, where he was still an active firefighter at the time of his passing. He thoroughly enjoyed being part of both the police and fire departments. Carl was a member of Church of God of Prophecy.
Carl will be remembered for how much he loved to make people laugh and smile. He was always ready to share the most recent joke he had heard. He was a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment. In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, DJing, woodworking/woodcrafting, playing board games, and martial arts. More than anything, Carl loved all of his family.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Edna Fay Rigsby of Marion; sons, Jerry Renz of Kendallville, Pete Boxell, and Earstle Rigsby; daughters, Sherry (Brian) Welch of Marion, Lori Bollhoefer of Marion, Deborah (Ronald) Bosquez of Marion, Tonya (Dusty Myrick) Jones of Jonesboro, and Sissy (James) Anderson of Marion; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and brother, Michael (Sherri) DeMott of Upland.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Darren Rigsby and Orville Rigsby; sister, Brenda (Dale) Gillespie; and brother, Robert Malott.

Even as I´m shedding tears for your loss, I´m honored to remember one of the best people I ever met. RIP my friend. I will miss you yelling at me on the Zellow app at work when you couldn´t get me to answer my phone!
