John Maurice Souers, 94 of Warren, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne.
John was born on March 9, 1930, in Huntington County, Indiana, to Ira and Ruth (Boyd) Souers. He graduated from Jefferson Township High School in 1948 and worked as a farmer for 6 years and for Schenkel Dairy for 50 years. John married Doris (Wilcoxson) Souers on July 4, 1982, at Jefferson Center Church. John loved spending time outdoors, mowing, and tending to his home. John had attended Jefferson Center Church and Solid Rock Church throughout his lifetime.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Ruth Souers.
Loving survivors include his wife, Doris Souers of Warren, IN, children, David Souers of Warren, IN, and Linda (Dan) Ice of Swayzee, IN, grandchildren, Mike Dail, Jerry Dail, Amanda (Chris) Thompson-Zahn, and Heather (Chris) Zell, and great grandchildren, Bri, Logan, Christopher, Autumn, Jordan, Olivia, Adyson, Trevor, Chase, Megan, Nora, Nolan, Charlie, and Bella.
Friends and family may gather to share and remember at Heritage Pointe, Applegate Chapel located at 801 Huntington Ave. Warren, IN 46792 on Friday, December 27, 2024, from 1pm to 7pm and again on Saturday, December 28, 2024, from 10am to 11am. A funeral service will begin at 11am Saturday, with Chaplain Ginny Soultz officiating. Burial will follow at Lancaster Cemetery in Huntington County, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: Solid Rock Church, 485 Bennett Dr. Warren, IN 46792, or Heritage Pointe General Fund 801 Huntington Ave. Warren, IN 46792.
